So we cant slam a coach here?

Before the season started, everyone knew this was not going to be a great season for us. Most predicting 6-6, etc. Our year was supposed to be next year. Then, we beat Montana and Cincy and everyone started having unrealistic expectations of how good we are. Then, first offensive drive of UF game our best player, who the offense was built around goes out for season. After that our starting QB goes out for majority of the season. We are playing with Matt Simms and Z. Rogers. I don't know what some of you expected to happen. You can't tell me that if we had Bray and Hunter, that it wouldn't have been much closer scores in LSU and Bama. We are playing with very low level talent right at a lot of spots right now. Lets wait until next year when we have a full roster of Dooley's guys to determine how good or bad he is.

Dooley only has one recruiting class now. I anticipate next year to be better but he won't have a full roster of his recruits for another three years.

They play the run fairly well. There is no play maker as a pass rusher in the front 4.

We don't have an elite pass rusher; I agree with that. But, they handled Bama's running game about as anyone has in SEC play. That's an area where there has been clear progress.

I am getting it just fine. We'll see who was right next year I guess. Or the year after or the year after depending on how long people want to make excuses for this guy.

All i'm saying is that it's not the recruiting classes that should be the issue. Dooley may or may not pan out. I'm just saying that lack of talent shouldn't be the reason for his demise if he is eventually canned, beause he has done well in that regard so far.

We also kept 8 in the box to do so. When Bama aired it out we had to back out of that some and thus you saw their running game become more effective.

allVol, What would you consider improvement next year?
I thought we would win 6-7 this year and 8-9 next year.

second rate talent ?

a top 15 or top 10 recruiting class is second rate talent ?

money doesn't solve everything ,sometimes it just takes hard work.
that's exactly what we need right now more than anything is hard work. There is no instant win solution for us. It will take time.

we just played the number 1 and number 2 teams in the nation back to back and we lost.
well guess what sunshine, every other team in the country would have lost those two games also. So stop crying.

I like what I see out of CDD and the team so far this year. I see progress every game. Its a lack of depth that's hurting us more than any thing else.

we have a roof and some walls but we have no foundation.

Dooley isn't perfect but he is learning and I see the potential there for him to be a truly great coach.

I don't think there's a team in the country that can stonewall Bama's running game with no safety help. The difference is that lots of teams have better secondaries than us. That's the obvious, gaping deficiency in this defense.

He was given a crappy situation but I get tired of that being used as an excuse. Everyone knew the situation was crap and he is going to be given an extra long leash if people continue to tie that into his evaluation so heavily. We know he got crap, acknowledge it an move on. He isn't the first to inherit such a mess. UT fans want a great coach, great overcomes.

So? This has resulted in how many wins over UGA, UF, and Bama after those classes set foot on campus?

Other than Bray, Hunter, Rodgers, AJ Johnson and Maggitt I see nothing to get excited about. Those 5 are actually legit top of the line guys but without a defensive front and a star running back he isn't going to win in this league.

Lanier, Randolph, Couch, Arnett, Coleman, Lane, Devrin, and all the o-line. Fulmer and Kiffin screwed us. Its amazing that we are even still competitive for some of the games. You don't beat UGA, UF, and Bama with all freshmen. Dooley is pulling in another great class this year with the likes of the top schools while the barren team he has to field every Saturday should scare away most prospects. The idiots on this board are making me physically sick. Open your eyes and watch a game without trying to blame everything on the coaches. Nick Saban coaching this team would have the same record that Dooley does right now...and the same recruiting class.

A player problem. It is a personal issue. Swain talked about it today. You need a leader in the locker room to get players going. We don't have that guy on the team. The players need to man up.

8-9 next year would be desired. He has no excuse on offense if people stay healthy.

How many wins did you expect this year?

Maybe I was off but I see the team getting better. I just though we were out gunned this year. We will still be out gunned next year but we are closing the gap.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but we don't have a full roster yet do we?

He also lost to Vandy. So who would you compare him to. Do you guys remember when Randy Sanders played? He didn't play much. Jeff Francis beat him out.

Matt has not been give an opportunity to loose to Vandy so maybe there even.

I sat next to Francis in an Econ Class once.
I'm old!

Me too! I'm willing to give Dooley 4 years, but I think Hart will make a move if he doesn't see improvement next year. Hart has a 100 million dollar budget to work with.

If someone does not like the fact that our coach cant win and never has..WE CANT SLAM HIM????

If he was winning I wouldn't slam him!!!!!!!!!!

Saban won what in 2nd year??
Meyer won what in 2nd year??
Chizik won what in 2nd year??

Hell even Tommy Tuberville beat the #3 ranked team and is 5-2 in HIS SECOND YEAR!!!

But god forbid anyone slam our coach for not doing better then 47% win ratio!

Saban won exactly NOTHING in his second year in the big time. After being head coach one year at Toledo his first FOUR years at Michigan State his teams went 6-5-1, 6-6, 7-5, and 6-6. About the same as Dooley so far. So you started off being wrong and then compounded it.

@ Drivebye & orangeslice13: Big Deal. I passed Mallon Faircloth on the stairs in Ayers Hall every Monday-Wednesday. On the other hand, I'm not too sure about Hart. He might go to Africa to dig water wells or something like the last AC.

Getting rid of Dooley next year would be a huge mistake

What if Clemson had **** canned Dabo last year when people were calling for his head?

I bet you like to bit_h about every aspect of life. You probably complain about 'who's in' and 'who's out' and when it reverses you probably complain even more. Imagine your a lot of fun to be around. UT program will go forward with or without you. Keep complaining on the internet, it keeps you off the streets.
