The post I replied to said he was concentrated in recruiting, and not hiring an oc. I asked why he couldn't seem to do both. But obviously we are on different sides of the argument, you likely being that this oc hire is going as planned and me being on the side that its just another UT coaching hire disaster.

You replied back to me. Hence why I responded back.

He was locked in on recruiting and he even said that.

Obviously this OC hire isn’t going as planned he was stalemated on Freeze and Yurcich said no. Other then that I don’t think Pruitt has considered anyone else and had to reset. Hence where we are today.

Wonder if Pruitt wishes he hadn't made that remark about OC's sometimes being over rated.

Not the thing to say when you need an OC.
I don’t think I’d want an OC whose feelers would be hurt by a statement like that.

Geeze, guys. Have some sense.

Probably not since he knows exactly what he meant.
He knows what he meant, but did everyone that heard(or heard about) the comment?
Watching the video, and one can see what he was getting at, but how many people ran with the misrepresented statements of "Pruitt said offensive coordinators are over rated."

It's not a matter of feelings being hurt. If I'm looking for a job and have several positions to consider, am I going to consider the one where the boss already appears to not value the job I'd fill?

Am I going to get much consideration for a raise or promotion just because of his possible bias against offensive coordinators?

Sounds like hurt feelers to me. Understand it the way he meant it and get your ass to work. It ain't rocket surgery.

Thankfully, nobody being considered for the job is that fragile or stupid.

You have to have a built in bias against the guy to not either understand what he meant or take the time to figure it out.... in which case you wouldn't interview with him in the first place.

I think that was coachspeak.

My opinion is; and maybe it should have been said a little different, because I feel this is what he meant.. Right now I am focusing on recruiting because if we don't get the right players, it doesn't matter who the oc is. I feel that's exactly what he meant.

He should have said that nicer. He should have been nicer about the spring game attendance. He should have been nicer about needing better players. We not only have to worry about the fans feelers and the players feelers, we have to be sensitive to potential coaches feelers.

No wonder we suck.

The big word everybody that freaks out misses in his quote was the first one - "Sometimes". That word immediately made it clear that he was going to something like you just posted.

This is why coaches can never win. Fans overanalyze every statement and run with it as if they have things figured out.

A bunch of goobers on a message board apparently.

I doubt any of them are on the list regardless of Sunday morning genius.

Im gonna make a huge leap and say that the majority of coaches around the country wouldn't have the first clue about the interview even taking place if it was brought up to them.

Reminds me of his comments Bama weekend where he called out the entire team and said they sucked.
