The post I replied to said he was concentrated in recruiting, and not hiring an oc. I asked why he couldn't seem to do both. But obviously we are on different sides of the argument, you likely being that this oc hire is going as planned and me being on the side that its just another UT coaching hire disaster.
He knows what he meant, but did everyone that heard(or heard about) the comment?Probably not since he knows exactly what he meant.
I don’t think I’d want an OC whose feelers would be hurt by a statement like that.
Geeze, guys. Have some sense.
It's not a matter of feelings being hurt. If I'm looking for a job and have several positions to consider, am I going to consider the one where the boss already appears to not value the job I'd fill?
Am I going to get much consideration for a raise or promotion just because of his possible bias against offensive coordinators?
Thankfully, nobody being considered for the job is that fragile or stupid. It's not a matter of feelings being hurt. If I'm looking for a job and have several positions to consider, am I going to consider the one where the boss already appears to not value the job I'd fill?

My opinion is; and maybe it should have been said a little different, because I feel this is what he meant.. Right now I am focusing on recruiting because if we don't get the right players, it doesn't matter who the oc is. I feel that's exactly what he meant.
The big word everybody that freaks out misses in his quote was the first one - "Sometimes". That word immediately made it clear that he was going to something like you just posted. My opinion is; and maybe it should have been said a little different, because I feel this is what he meant.. A bunch of goobers on a message board apparently. He knows what he meant, but did everyone that heard(or heard about) the comment?
Watching the video, and one can see what he was getting at, but how many people ran with the misrepresented statements of "Pruitt said offensive coordinators are over rated."
Im gonna make a huge leap and say that the majority of coaches around the country wouldn't have the first clue about the interview even taking place if it was brought up to them.Thankfully, nobody being considered for the job is that fragile or stupid.
You have to have a built in bias against the guy to not either understand what he meant or take the time to figure it out.... in which case you wouldn't interview with him in the first place.
