Shooting in El Paso

At this point, I think people who don't want to be viewed as a racist should distance themselves from Trump.

Most folks that support President Trump don't really give a rat's tushy how they are viewed or what they are called.

Most of them got over being bothered by it during the 8 previous years of hearing it non stop from the Obama/Democratic side so at this point it's just more of the same from the same party.

It's really sounding a lot like Charlie Brown's teacher.

I understand your point, but freedom of religion is one of the cornerstones of our country. It's not okay to force religion upon anyone. The law is a different subject.
I agree. It must be a choice. It cannot work any other way. God will not force anyone to Love Him or Follow Him. They will either choose Eternal Life or Eternal Damnation. God is Just and Righteous and has never lied. He cannot lie.

You guys have done a great job of proving 'em right.

The term racist has been assigned to so many people, places, and things that it no longer has value. I voted for Trump, ergo I am a racist. No amount of trying to disprove a negative will change that. So I can’t be bothered. And I think by calling everyone a racist it encourages others to act more racist than they actually are, because why not? May as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb.

And now the U.S. tightly regulates the sale of ammonium nitrate.

You do know that somebody set on inflicting large scale casualties doesn't need that stuff.

Talk to some folks that have been on a CST/WMD team about learning hands on how to make some of the world's deadliest chemical weapons with easily sourced materials.

You've got to know the composition of it to contain and neutralize it properly.😉

Question, and I apologize in advance if it’s already been asked, but I’m not going to read through 54 pages of nonsense, but after we ban all of the scary looking guns and these mass shootings keep happening at the same rate and with the same amount of devastation, which they most certainly will, what’s the plan going to be then?

They'll ban the ones that aren't scary looking.

I don't think the Red Flag laws they passed in Florida are a bad idea. In a number of these cases someone knows the person is dangerous.

More or less someone can red flag you as a murder or suicide risk. When you go buy a gun that pops up and the authorities can take that information into account.

Too far or too little?

Ah, no worries. Overall point remains. If you go to the trouble to make it to the range there's little point in not actually burning through some ammo. (including, as you say, just for fun)
I have gone through a bunch in my day. I stay well stocked though.

Toddler logic. Horrible consequences when adults use it.

If you can't distance yourself from Trump at this point, the accusations are accurate, and you're just an ugly stain on American history - like the people who defended segregation.
And...………………………………….wait for it...…………………………………………….

the race card has been dealt.

I wonder how many people are going to make that data base from arguing with the ex’s , family , friends , colleagues , people holding a grudge against them .

Previous generations saw large portions of the population actually shooting and killing people, coupled with far more extremist views than we see today, and they didn’t display this type of violence in society with this regularity.

Which makes all this even more mind boggling. And it's not just Trump's tenure. It happened under Obama. It happened before Obama. I think the generation carrying out these shootings have a severely distorted view of how to handle things you don't like or agree with. And it's the far spectrums of both liberal and conservative extremes. There's some mental illnesses for sure.

Trump supporters have decided a long time ago not to be the bigger man and now find themselves excusing actual racism.

Way off base there. The racism coming from the left is just as rampant. The entire democratic platform is based off labelling everything racist. And the way they throw it around toward the right makes it worse. There is no right or wrong side in this, and definitely no winners.

OK. Let's set that aside. Keep gun regulations just as is.

Serious question to you because I don't think we are that far apart on a lot of things and we all want this to stop: what is the smartest thing we could do that actually make a difference?

Enforce the current laws. Hold the local, state and federal agencies feet to the fire to keep the three NICS databases constantly updated. A background check is only as good as the information it has available to check. Want to by a gun, fill out this form. Want a carry permit, fill out this form. Want to get grandpa's gun you pawned out of hock, fill out this form. The checks are there, the data isn't.

Rough example: If someone has a fresh restraining order against them, but otherwise clean record, and knows their state is slow or months behind on those updates they could lie on the background form with virtually little to no concern of failing on the front end because their shite isn't in the system yet. In this case even a 10 day waiting period may not be enough.

You can't make everybody with a clean background wait around who knows how long until the system gets updated to make a purchase just because some numnuts aren't doing their jobs.

What is actual racism? Do you even know? The left has bastardized what racism really is by continuously calling everyone who opposes them racist. I've said it before, it's the boy who calls wolf. The left has labeled so many people racist, no one believes them anymore. They've turned something that should have meaning into a political hatchet. Now the hatchet has lost its edge and just doesn't cut anymore.

Before or after we almost killed off the Native Americans.

There's irony for you right there...

Slavery is wrong. Abolish it. Let's have a civil war over it. Well, we're done with the war, how about all you Northern Army troops go west and discriminate against those non-white natives and kill them.

You guys have done a great job of proving 'em right.

I'm like totally offended by your labeling in that you would just assume I'm a guy. Your gender bias is like absolutely outrageous and you're like obviously a misogynist that thinks women have like no place in a conversation about guns or politics.
