We are playing really well to be so young. Arkansas is a shock to.
Really took these words to heart didn't they.

"Our young guys don't have time to be young as we get to the fall, and that's been a part of the message that our leadership has applied to the young guys inside of our program. I'm extremely excited about the young talent and the young competitive traits that we have inside of it, but we've got to have a great training camp here to go be the best version of ourselves as we get ready for the season."

Much of this is a result of the issues staff had recruiting under the negative recruiting used by other schools during Heupel’s first 3 years but it does speak well of the last two years recruiting results & portal additions.

Yes it includes redshirts. And the sophomore is low due to redshirting and transfers.

We redshirted~ 75% of our talented 2024 class last year. Only a handful played in more than 4 games. That sets up nicely for 2026-2028 seasons, especially since each of the classes in 24, 25, and now 26 is rated higher than the last. Especially for skill players and the Oline. The 2026 class has the best QB in the nation in Faizon, the #1WR in Keys, 3 other insanely gifted athletes at WR in Legend Bey, Tyreek King, and Salesi Moa, 3 bigtime and big bodied Olinemen...and FINALLY for the 1st time in CJH tenure, a 5* caliber Safety in Wyatt. This insane 2026 class is gonna stack on top of a 2025 class that has about 40kids in it right now between actual 2025 recruits and redshirts from 2024 rolled into it. Thats a recipe for a bunch of really talented players as upper classmen in 2027 and 2028. Unfortunately our schedules for the next 4 years are pretty brutal IMO...we just have to be able to make the playoffs in any given year though. We will have the talent to beat anyone. I didn't expect us to be as good as we are this season. I picked us at 9-3 and we may do better. Things will only get better from here as we are getting more bigtime Bluechips every season than we landed the previous year.
