FYI - I just logged into TOS (The other site), and there was a thread started today that asked are you opting in. Most that answered opted out. Couple of them (wisely) said they felt their age put them at risk. One said he had terrace and won't have all the perks that come with that moving to an lower bowl seat. Others said the S.A.V.E. donation is 100% tax deductible (please, verify this yourself). They give amplified points to your profile for doing this by the way, which will come in handy for the next pandemic. Others are deferring the payment to apply to next year and yet others are getting the refund. The tailgating experience is more important than the game to some people I suppose. And of course a couple of folks opted in.
The VolNation poll I put out a week or so ago had about a hundred replies (thanks to all who helped) and the opt out rate was 40% there. I have yet to see any upper deck seat assignments, (please speak up if you have been assigned one), so I'm optomistic that next week, some of us will get placed there.
Also, just something to share - Doug Mathews said Sunday that the visiting teams get 500 tickets. Suspect those go to players parents, but just a guess.
Couple of things are of concern - seeing on other threads where some of our players are sitting the season out (at this point rumored on Swain). Could this go down in the record books as an invalid season? It's happening at other schools too. And they are testing something like 3 times during the week prior to a game. A positive result ends up with a 14 day quarentine. What if Henry T, Gray, Chandler, Kennedy and some other starters got sidelined? Of course we would have them do what has to be done to get well, but it could really skew the season. Or what if it happened to Alabama the week before they come to Knoxville, and because of that, we beat them. They won't accept that (and will still claim a natty).
This season is going to be wild and weird. That's for sure, but hey, it's 2020.
Edit:
Just saw another thread over there. Someone said that they called and were told that if you are a trailblazer, those that donated over $2000 were pulled ahead of the other trailblazers, regardless of rank.
