Yes a lot, even terrace ticket holders
Which that makes sense. They donate and pay for the amenities. Without them many in that crowd probably bailed. It’s a completely different experience there. My uncle gave me tickets there for a game and I went to check it out. I moved back to my seats at half time

I've been in the skybox a couple of times. Really, it's like you never really get inside the stadium. Sound doesn't quite make it through the glass. Lots of food, like being on a cruise ship, you feel obligated to eat and eat. Would rather be in the crowd as well.

I love the skybox and I love west sideline.

It's hard to turn down.. Only been there twice, and turning it down would do more harm than good, if you know what I mean. It's all good. As long as the VOLS are having a good day. I was over on the East side. I was there on that cold day when we beat Kentucky a while back. It looked cold out in the stadium. Might have to be a water boy this year to get in the stadium.

Hope it works out.

Re suites, I have been a guest in various suites a few times, and it is more of an "experience" than going to a game. Your cruise ship analogy re food is right on. There is a lot, and it is good.....you really have to pace yourself. However, this year will be different as I don't believe they can have the big buffets this year, although they may be able to do cafeteria style and serve folks.

As to watching the game, you're so far from the action, it is more like watching on a big screen tv, but it is nice when it rains.

Exactly.. There is a little vent window you can open up and let a little of the crowd noise in. Mostly its Kesling doing the audio. I dunno - it's nice, you feel priveledged in some respect, but I want to hear the band crank up Rocky Top, and feel and see the fireworks after a touchdown. I like to know be the first to know a field goal was missed by watching the crowd behind the goal posts. I'll go back if asked - but I don't mind not being there.

They might be doing some seating adjustments based on the response. Like #of 2 vs 4 seat blocks

Nothing here yet either.

Couple of things - it would probably make more people happy for those with 2 tickets to get seated. Numbers game on how many ticket holders get a slice of the pie. On the other hand, the person paying for 4 seats (in the same section) has a higher contribution, and from what I've heard, that is what drives it. I have 4 seats, but would take 2 rather than none, and let them use those others. But that wasn't asked, so I don't think there is any control over it. Actually , it seems with social distancing, you could get more in the stadium seating in groups of 4.

Yes, it has been quiet today. Glad I'm not the only one. Like the eye of a hurricane going over.

The email I received this past Tuesday said nothing was coming until 7-10 days so I wouldn't look for anything until Tuesday next week at the earliest

OK.....I'll admit I'm out of the loop, but who gets sideline tickets? I always thought it was former players, recruits, etc. Do "regular" folks get sideline tickets for the entire season? Wow, can't imagine how cool that would be.

I'd say they probably won't do sideline tickets. Why? Because the ones they want to really protect is the team. They have expanded the sidelines to go from goal line to goal line - 100 yards just to get separation between the players.

FYI - I just logged into TOS (The other site), and there was a thread started today that asked are you opting in. Most that answered opted out. Couple of them (wisely) said they felt their age put them at risk. One said he had terrace and won't have all the perks that come with that moving to an lower bowl seat. Others said the S.A.V.E. donation is 100% tax deductible (please, verify this yourself). They give amplified points to your profile for doing this by the way, which will come in handy for the next pandemic. Others are deferring the payment to apply to next year and yet others are getting the refund. The tailgating experience is more important than the game to some people I suppose. And of course a couple of folks opted in.

The VolNation poll I put out a week or so ago had about a hundred replies (thanks to all who helped) and the opt out rate was 40% there. I have yet to see any upper deck seat assignments, (please speak up if you have been assigned one), so I'm optomistic that next week, some of us will get placed there.

Also, just something to share - Doug Mathews said Sunday that the visiting teams get 500 tickets. Suspect those go to players parents, but just a guess.

Couple of things are of concern - seeing on other threads where some of our players are sitting the season out (at this point rumored on Swain). Could this go down in the record books as an invalid season? It's happening at other schools too. And they are testing something like 3 times during the week prior to a game. A positive result ends up with a 14 day quarentine. What if Henry T, Gray, Chandler, Kennedy and some other starters got sidelined? Of course we would have them do what has to be done to get well, but it could really skew the season. Or what if it happened to Alabama the week before they come to Knoxville, and because of that, we beat them. They won't accept that (and will still claim a natty).

This season is going to be wild and weird. That's for sure, but hey, it's 2020.

Edit:
Just saw another thread over there. Someone said that they called and were told that if you are a trailblazer, those that donated over $2000 were pulled ahead of the other trailblazers, regardless of rank.

Still curious if only those who will be getting tickets received this email. I did not and am a trailblazer and 25 year donor.

It might’ve help that we were on the 50 yard line.

That would be changing the rules mid stream and that’s not good. They are trying to keep as much money as possible to keep things floating.
