Same Ole Crap from CHW

I would prefer UT treat Holly Warlick with as much dignity and respect as possible while finding a suitable change for restoring the program to full competitive order, and that's about all I'd like to see about it. I regret seeing people throw the heaviest venom at her - she bleeds as much orange as anyone, considering she's got a retired jersey in the rafters for a reason. And while I absolutely agree that the head coach must show ownership for the team's performance, (which in this case could mean it's time to look at changing coaches), the AD bears some ownership for the program's state. Everyone's choices got Tennessee to the point. Overlooking things, ignoring things, making decisions that didn't add up. And it'll take everyone in the department working together to get Tennessee out of it.

If Coach Fulmer does not let her go this week it proves he really don't care about any other sport outside of football.

Your move Phil.
Got to make some kind of move, supporting or deporting,,,but you've got to show something. We lost a one point game with two chances to use a foul to give.

I can be there tomorrow!

If you want to know how bad this staff is look no further than the Missouri game and the final two possessions. Both with timeouts preceding them. Look at the shots we got. I was done right there. If you can’t get a better shot than that then why are you coaching? #next

Warlick's been coasting on nostalgic Lady Vol fumes since she took over. The first couple of years, fine, you'll never be the legend Summitt was, but maybe you'll get better. Now, I don't care if she's got a huge connection to the program, she needs to go for the health of the program. You would think Warlick could see the damage she's doing to the program, but nope, she just brings up Pat's name whenever things get frazzled and expect others to be like "Well, Pat chose her, so we just have to deal with it".

Its been 8 or 9 years since (I think) and she has been head coach and has she even led ANY Lady Vols team to the Sweet 16..........I don't remember ??

She actually led the team to three (3) Elite Eight finishes in her first 4 years as head coach, with the 4th year being a Sweet Sixteen. The last two seasons however have both finished in the 2nd Round of the NCAAT.

If one looks at the previous 6 seasons under Warlick, they should be able to see a distinct decline in success as the years have progressed: the first 3 seasons the Lady Vols went 86-20 overall, and 42-6 in SEC play, with two regular-season titles and one SECT championship. The season they didn't finish 1st in the SEC, they finished tied for 2nd....

The last three seasons, the Lady Vols went 67-34 overall, and 29-19 in the SEC. The best SEC finish they had in that time was last season, when they tied for 4th in conference play. Now, after starting 1-5 in the SEC, they will be hard-pressed to finish with an above-.500 conf. record, although it's not out of the realm of possibility for such a talent-laden team.

What is astounding to me, is that after such losses like tonight's, Warlick seems incapable of providing any positivity in her post-game pressers, even when she attempts to be positive. She never admits to her or her staff perhaps being out-coached, to not having the team prepared as well as they should have been, of making mistakes with adjustments or rotations. A head coach that has confidence in himself/herself in preparing and coaching a team will often admit to such stumbles after bad losses, simply because often it would only be the truth.

And admitting that you were out-coached, or that you made coaching mistakes may not be positive statements in themselves, but doing so tells the fan-base that despite the gaffs, you know what you did wrong, and therefore it instills hope that you'll do what needs to be done to fix them, and do a better job in the future.

But Warlick will NEVER admit such a thing. She will often state the team didn't play defense well enough, didn't keep their confidence up, didn't take advantage of opportunities. They didn't execute a situation right here or there. Or, she will virtually roll up in her post-game presser "fetal position" of simply repeating "I don't know", "I don't have any answers", or "we just have to do better".

For one bad loss here or there, that's an OK response. Teams can have inexplicable bad showings from time to time. But to do these things after EVERY bad loss, in addition to NEVER admitting that perhaps, this once, the blame falls on the coaching staff instead of the players, is a red flag. Once or twice can be rationalized away, but to do this with the consistency Warlick does it, is essentially to declare that it IS the coaching, and not the players, at fault here. Even without admitting it. But it doesn't leave the fan-base encouraged that things will improve...

Warlick post game: “Pat would’ve been proud with how we fought tonight”
When will it end
She should have been fired the second she ended that sentence. Seriously, two UT officials should have escorted her out of the building right then. Pat would have been proud of the way they fought? Pat would be ashamed to be unranked, in next-to-last place in the SEC, 8 years without a final four. Pat, the ultimate competitor, would vomit at the comfort level that Holly has with losing. The puke buckets would be on the floor and those girls would be running until dawn.

10 turnovers in the first half and 10% shooting 3-point shots (1 of 10) with absolutely no defense against Arkansas and 3-point shots will not win ball games. We have lost 4 in a row and probably Arkansas to make it 5...then we play Notre Dame which should be 6 loses in a row with supposedly the best two recruiting classes in the past two years....plain and simple CHW is an absolute loser as a coach. When asked for an answer, she had none. CHW has totally destroyed the Lady Vols basketball program...fire her now not at the end of the season.

Added comment after the game. Well we lost again. LV had only 4 personal fouls with Arkansas to get the ball at the end of the court with 10.4 seconds. In that situation you foul (no free throws for the foul) Arkansas before the ball crosses the halfway point with about 5 seconds left and having to in bound the basketball again. Coach Harley "Dumb Dumb"' should have instructed for a foul...no Arkansas comes straight down the court with their quick player that had already scored plenty of times (you would expect her to do so) and she throws up her shoot and LV lose by 1 point. The program will be damaged even more if we wait to the season end...do this week.

I'm glad someone else noticed the foul situation. As soon as Monk approached half court I was yelling foul, foul!

actually we had 3 fouls at this point. 10.2 seconds
One to give without penalty.

the timeout we went home with could have been used before the foulshot to tell the team this...
Full court full pressure on the bringdown
foul between the halfcourt and arc.
No shot.
Embrace them on the foul.

Holly will have to be dragged out of Knoxville kicking & screaming. According to her the team already lost to Notre Dame but she'll still be the coach no matter what

Sick & twisted. We're not dealing with a sane person LV fans. Holly ain't going anywhere until the Lady Vol name dustbin of wcbball lore. Just make sure the last blue hair turn off the lights in The Summit. ☹️

All she wants to do is collect her retirement pay. As simple as that, She ain't quiting until she gets the buyout offer. So how long will it take? I dunno...

She should be fired today, turn it over to Lockwood and at least try to salvage the season. It's also embarrassing to see a member of the coaching staff jumping up and down flailing his arms and screaming every time UT scored.

Do it now. Bring in Mickie DeMoss as interim. This season can still be saved, we have the players.

I typically do not bash coaches nor call for them to be removed . . . I am making an exception - CHW must go!! As a proud UT alumni who loves the VOLS and Lady VOLS, CHW has not fulfilled CPHS dream of continuing her legacy . . . CHW, don't go away mad, just go away!!

Johnny Majors was a much bigger star, and when the time came he got the boot anyway. Fulmer bled orange, but it didn't save him from mediocre results. Sometimes, time is just up.

I hope she didn't say Pat would have been proud of that...... Worse yet, does she really believe that? I guess that's why we're we are.
