I gotta say, I'm surprised at the 4 point bump. That coupled with Providence FINALLY losing, it was a good night! On to the next one.
Got some help from NC st.
Be interesting to see if Nebraska jumps back in front on thursday with a win.
I was sweating Providence. what a game.
That tells me a win against Mizzou at home and they should be in the last 4 in again assuming they win the rest. Only because those from like 47-60 in RPI will more than likely lose games down their stretch runs too.
Agree.
Hoping we draw Virginia or Xavier like teams
UT is now 2-10 in games decided by 10 points or less, 14-1 in games decided by more than 10 points, with the only loss being the beatdown in Gainesville. Hardly anyone wins ALL the close ones, but you sure as hell can't get away with losing 83% of them.
That's what's so frustrating. When we're right, we can play with anyone. We took Wichita State, who STILL hasn't lost a game, down to the wire on their home floor. That's impressive. But we can't beat a thoroughly mediocre Texas A&M team in two tries?
And that in a nutshell is coaching. When the game is tight down the stretch and you need your coach to draw up a play, Martin is not going to get it done for you. It is only a player making a play on his own like McRae has done numerous times that will bail Martin's incompetence out.
I agree, however, you have to add that our players just can't get it done either. We have at least 2 games (and probably more) where our players could have overcome the coaching to win- both A&M games. I can argue we beat UF at home without missed layups, missed dunks, and 8 turnovers by a post player. If Barton makes a 3 or Maymon makes FT's, we win the first A&M game. If Stokes makes a FT, we win the second. Barton, who was clutch at Memphis, finally shows that he can do it at UT, and our coach calls a TO. Same old stuff.
