These are all potential abilities that may be seen at a later date. I have seen nothing more than a glimpse of a decent defender and that is it. The game film does not lie. I hope he does bloom into a good or even a great player, but there is a lot of room for improvement.-he has a decent floater from 3-4 feet
-he has shown he can get the ball up quick on the square right or left
-he is well above average and willing passer feeding the post
-his ball iq may be best on the team on both ends
-he hits fts better than Carey, Cade and felix
-he can guard down low and perimeter because he has good feet and smart
-he doesn’t get shoved around
-he went straight up on 2 huge drives against Auburn with 2 great defensive plays and has played better D than you giving credit for
Those assets are all obvious to me.

I agree he needs to improve, like 99% of freshmen who even get minutes. As far as the film not lying, I’m not sure where else you think i saw these assets other than on the court. The film doesn’t lie. One just has to know what they are watching tbh and if you haven’t seen his one hand floater, getting the ball up quick off the square before the defender can get up, being a better finisher on layups and fts than Carey and Felix, his passing ability and solid defense inside and out, you aren’t seeing film well. Sorry to be blunt but I didnt pull those skills out of thin air. These are all potential abilities that may be seen at a later date. 2 people with totally different opinions. Time will tell the outcome.I agree he needs to improve, like 99% of freshmen who even get minutes. Yes I hope he keeps developing of course. He is currently 3rd on the team in blocks with fewer minutes played. He is shooting 58% with few of them dunks, so the stats back up he is a better on layups than Felix and Carey and shoots fts better than both as well. Felix shoots the same but most of his buckets are lob dunks.2 people with totally different opinions. Time will tell the outcome.
You definitely can read and print the stat sheet but that 5.1 points per game will not carry the load, especially with our offensive deficiencies. Maybe Friday will be his stat sheet stuffer, lol.Yes I hope he keeps developing of course. He is currently 3rd on the team in blocks with fewer minutes played. It was originally thought that he wouldn't contribute a lick this season...might even redshirt. Instead, he got in phenomenal physical shape and proved he could be useful in the rotation as a freshman. One of the more efficient post scorers and had better numbers than Okpara did as a freshman in nearly identical minutes. These are all potential abilities that may be seen at a later date. Once again, difference of opinion. It was originally thought that he wouldn't contribute a lick this season...might even redshirt. If the expectation was to see him come in and run away with one of those post positions, I can see being underwhelmed, but I'd also argue those expectations were wildly unrealistic. I'd exercise patience with Brown. He's shown plenty of potential to give hope that there is room for improvement.

…doomed, i tell ya!This team is full of “almost” players. We only have two guys that are scoring threats. Everyone else is just catching the ball to get rid of it. The opposition knows this, and it doesn’t put any pressure on them defensively.
For example, at the end of the Alabama game in Knoxville, with 15 seconds left and no Ament, Alabama knew Gillespie was the only guy on the court that would even consider shooting the ball. When it’s a certainty that the 6’1” dude is taking the shot, it’s not difficult to force a low percentage shot.
I like CRB, but take out the year we hit on DK, and we’ve seen 7 years of consistently average to below average offensive basketball.
