Replacement for CBJ - Scott Frost

maybe.....

I still think a veteran coach who has coached in the SEC at a high level would be the quickest way back to competing in the SEC east war.

Les Miles

The only problem with this is that obviously to have coached in the SEC previously means that you were let go. Not sure why we would want a coach that could not hack it in the SEC their first go round.

:)Obviously Florida is going for Dan Mullen. Why not UT for Scott Frost? Frost is directly responsible for the success of Chip Kelly...forget Kelly go for Frost. He has a track record on offense and can improve QB's. The NFL Titans have a Frost produced QB. UT can afford him if our AD will get off his butt and do something.

Frost had nothing to do with Kelly's success...Not sure where you get your information from.

So let's hear your top 3. Enlighten us.

Ok but you won’t like it but I stand behind it enough to forgo UT football, all of CFB actually, if it doesn’t happen. This is totally and completely independent of all the “grumors”.

1. Gruden
2. Kelly

No. One. Else.

Anyone else that has already been mentioned will only get us, at best, 2nd in the SECE. No thanks.

While I respect your opinion I Completely disagree. While I would be pleased with either of these coaches they are not the end all be all; simply not true. Mullen has done more with less than nearly any other SEC coach I can think of save, perhaps, Franklin.

Frost took an 0-12 program to 7-0 and a top 25 ranking in three years. THAT, is coaching, recruiting (in FL mind you) and motivating. I don't think he's coming here but we would win almost immediately with him.

Gruden is sexy but outside of a Super Bowl (w/Dungy's team mind you) who has he won with? Again, I'd love to have him but he is not a sure thing.

Kelly's scheme worked in the Pac-12 but he never beat Bama with it and their defense was never elite. I struggle to see how we compete with Bama (and now GA) running a finess scheme against the semi pro teams we play annually.

That scheme worked pretty good for Clemson to beat Bama.

Also before you say it was Clemson's D......know this over the past few years Clemson's D has given up 1 point fewer than Chips at Oregon.

That was all Watson IMO. Look, I am not saying I wouldn't welcome him with open arms but don't see him being one of two options that are acceptable. In other words, there are no guarantees.

I agree, however when those systems work well they have good QBs and Chip had some.......well for his system.

I also think there are other options, and I haven't seen anything showing Tennessee is even interested.

Not happening! Won't even go to Florida, concentrating on UCF.

That's the image being projected by Frost and it's honorable. However, if a Florida or Tennessee comes knocking, he'll listen. Frankly, I believe we and the Gators would be higher on his list than his alma mater. I believe the Cornhuskers have issues attracting talent due to their location.

UCF writer at 247 is saying Florida reached out to Frost's agent to gage interest and they fear he is going to Nebraska if Nebraska offers.

You have always been hard to take serious but after seeing that first name on your list you've went from lala land to batchit crazy.

You're the one that is crazy if you wouldn't support Kiffin as HC at Tennessee. The guy's a star and just knows football.

I have thought Canada or Strongs OC Sterlin Gilbert . Someone with a offensive background. I am guessing if it's not Frost, it will be Bobo, Norvell or Blake Anderson.

Why would anyone want Bobo? He took a 10 win sharkhumper team and turned them in to a 7 win team. Most Georgia fans I know wanted him fired as OC long before he left for CSU.

So 114-34 is not good enough in the SEC? Puts him up thete with pretty good company. You do want to win the SEC East quick right?

No disrespect to your opinion but in mine he is the worst choice. I do not want someone who is 63 years old and would retire in a few years. . I would rather have a younger person who can stay awhile. His offense was always boring.

Age has nothing to do with the coaching job but knowledge on how to win the SEC and the NC does. I can say the same thing for a younger coach. Remember we have had 3 younger coaches and what has that gotten us. Nothing but a pile of disappointments. Les Miles has 8-10 years left in him and he wants to go out a winner and I would think he would hire the best support staff he could find. Experience on how to win in the SEC is the most important quality...
