Red Dead Redemption...

Well, next question, who has this for XBox 360?

I do.

I wish there was a "duel" mode. Or a good way to practice. I believe you can disarm and headshot someone in a duel with the deadeye, but as i was trying to figure out the dueling, all of a sudden something changed and now I am getting destroyed.

get caught cheating in poker; you duel every time.

Some guys you have to kill, some you can just disarm.

I guess having Indians included wouldn't have been politically correct.

well at that point in history, i think most of the southwest conflicts and westerns and such were about the conflicts with the mexicans across the border...that or either good/bad cowboys

i think with the timeframe it's going for, indian conflicts had pretty much already faded off hadnt they?

I'm sure your recollection of that period of time is better than mine. It was just one of those random thoughts after playing for too long.:)

lol it's ok :)

personally, i always liked the Westerns w/ border wars (War for Texas Independence, with battles such as the Alamo, etc) with the Mexicans and the Spanish more than I liked the fights, battles, or westerns with the natives

I just saw the game's in 1911

So that would be at a point where honestly most of the quarrels with the Indians were probably over....then again the US annexation of Texas and the Mexican American Wars should have been over by 1848

there were two battles against indians though in 1898 and 1918 (Battle of Sugar Point in MN and Battle of Beer Belly in Southwest AZ) but both appear to be brief fights / skirmishes. So yeah, western hostilities w/ american indians had pretty much near died down by this point

So has anyone else actually gone into the movie house and watched the movies? They are hilarious. They all seem to include the snake oil salesman, as he sells different things to the people and what goes wrong with them, including one guy who humps a tree..... and the salesman going to hell. was some funny stuff.

you can cheat in poker?

yup! It's really cool how they implement cheating in poker, too.

Go to Thieves Landing and buy the Elegant suit at the tailor . This allows you the option to cheat by swiping a card from the bottom of the deck as you deal.

After that, you are playin' with 3 cards in hold'um while everyone else has 2. Gives you a huge advantage.

When you cheat, you gotta balance the meter (much like when you break a wild horse). If you screw up, they catch you and a duel ensues.

right, the trail of tears was in the 1830s (Andrew Jackson's term; he went from being admired by the indians to now many of them will refuse $20 bills)

the game takes place in 1911, so that left only one minor skirmish with the Natives in Arizona in 1918 and there was another minor one in Minnesota almost 15 years earlier.....so yeah, the major "indians vs the US or vs Cowboys" incidents like they had been over for a while by then

I hogtied the woman and put her on the tracks but the train never came. What's up with that?

Is anybody else having a hard time with horseshoes? I can't figure it out. My throws are always way short.
Go hunt a bunch and get some money then play it a few times. It is only 1 dollar per game and you get a bunch of throws per game. Other than that, try to release it when it is at the middle marker/arrow.
