You know more about WVU than I do, but that's my point-- WVU beat reporters say that they have 3-4 solid d-linemen and behind that, the rotation is questionable. They don't seem to think that WVU can rotate 7-8 quality d-linemen against UT; coupled with their depth and health issues at LB, that could be a big problem for them against a power running game. UT has drop-off depth issues as well, but it sounds like we're in better shape than WVU at key positions. Some of those ORs on the depth chart indicate that some of our backups are pretty solid. We'll find out in three days.
Don't really think it has to do with sunshine pumping. You attacked numbers. Math nerds don't take too kindly to that. haha. JK. I think the big deal was just the ChattaVol obviously puts in a ton of work to bring us stats and info that we wouldn't ever really get otherwise and you kinda took a chef on it. Not really a huge deal and I understand the point you were trying to make. Just that it wasn't like some crappy ESPN stats article, it was one of our own going above and beyond to try to bring us perspectives that nobody else will.Man it is stupid when everybody gets pissed at everything you freakin say because it isn't sunshine pumping BS. I didn't make a personal attack on anybody..and still got blasted.
And I appreciate that. It was a train of thought post.Don't really think it has to do with sunshine pumping. You attacked numbers. Math nerds don't take too kindly to that. haha. JK. They have the depth there, but outside the 2 transfers and the two brothers (stills I think is their names), the talent drop is huge. Not to mention the one is a freshman. They're basically banking on a 4*, freshman, and two transfers to be their saving grace.
The one lb, Long, is pretty good, and a ball hawk, good tackler, but like I said, he's only around 215lbs. Their other lbs are not good.
They only have 5 scholarship dbs too. 1 should be pretty good, the others are all unproven.
I like our depth across the entire D much better. Well, maybe outside of dline, but not one of their running backs would sniff the field in the sec.
When I feel good about something I can pump sunshine as good as anybody. I'm not going to just do it to please people though.
They have some good players, and I'm sure we're not taking them lightly. They'll put up points and we'll have to match them. But one of the "star" DL transfers they're counting on is Kenny Bigelow, who tore his ACL twice at SC, sat out almost three seasons and barely played last year. SC had already convinced him to give up playing before his medical RS was approved. Helton knows Bigelow's shortcomings and will try and capitalize on them.
Their DL could be better than expected, which would stymie our gameplan. Or we could run at them, through them and around them all afternoon.
Here is the average age & average talent of the 11 players assumed to be starting on both sides of the ball Saturday based on published depth charts.
WV Offense: Age = 20.9 Talent = 0.8520
UT Defense: Age = 20.6 Talent = 0.9292
UT Offense: Age = 19.8 Talent = 0.9211
WV Defense: Age = 20.8 Talent = 0.8451
