To all of you in Tennessee: I hate you. Looks like you're missing out on this polar vortex about to drop. Gonna be straight frigid here for the next week.

Where you at? I'm on the MO/AR/OK border and it's dropping from 83 today to 21 tonight.

Happy Veterans' Day to all of you that have served, have family that has served, or even just know someone that has served. Today is a day to remember and be thankful for all the men and women of our nation's Armed Forces that have fought and sometimes died to protect our freedoms. I am truly thankful for all of those that came before me and all of those that will come after me. I am honored to be considered a Veteran with all of those brave folks. Happy Veterans' Day!

(By the way this pic is not mine but just shows that the Big Orange is loved by our military!)

It's nothing short of brutal here in South Florida today...we've tumbled to below 80, looks like 76. The clouds are going away and we're staring at lows in the morning near 60. The rest of the week looks like more of the same...day after day.

I don't know how we are going to get through the week...

The funny thing is that people are wearing winter clothing here and we're only about 5 degrees cooler here.

I neither live in the mountains nor am I a yokel as I earned my degree and work professionally in the medical field. But I lived in both places for several years, and in only one place did I have my car broken into 3 times, had a friend shot and nearly had my wife and young children abducted during an apparent gang initiation right in front of me.....hint: it wasn't in Knoxville.

Stay classy default.

Liked, I have family just outside of Memphis, and family in Nashville. I get it.

Sorry Freak, but I gotta weigh in;

I've lived in Memphis for 6 years now. Yes, some of it sucks major D, but some of it is awesome too.

I've lived, or spent a lot of time in, Kingsport, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Nashville, and Memphis. I was born and raised in Kingsport.

I'd take MidTown Memphis over any of them. Nothing better than Central Gardens, Overton Square, and Cooper Young imo.

For the record, I'd go:

Memphis
Chattanooga
Nashville
Knoxville
Kingsport

If you ranked the cities by how bad they smelled, Kingsport would easily be on top.

When you have kids, move to the suburbs. I was raised in the suburbs, and it is a great living. My Dad took early retirement so that he didn't have to move. You don't have to worry about what you stated above, good schools, and you can still enjoy the culture and entertainment including the Grizzlies. I am about to have my third child (yes, literally tonight), and we really enjoy where we are.

Dude congrats! Hope all is well with baby and momma.

I think Butch making Richmond a priority certainly gives us a chance. Especially if we win out. Momentum can be an alluring thing.
