It's nothing short of brutal here in South Florida today...we've tumbled to below 80, looks like 76. The clouds are going away and we're staring at lows in the morning near 60. The rest of the week looks like more of the same...day after day.
I don't know how we are going to get through the week...
I neither live in the mountains nor am I a yokel as I earned my degree and work professionally in the medical field. But I lived in both places for several years, and in only one place did I have my car broken into 3 times, had a friend shot and nearly had my wife and young children abducted during an apparent gang initiation right in front of me.....hint: it wasn't in Knoxville.
Stay classy default.
Sorry Freak, but I gotta weigh in;
I've lived in Memphis for 6 years now. Yes, some of it sucks major D, but some of it is awesome too.
I've lived, or spent a lot of time in, Kingsport, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Nashville, and Memphis. I was born and raised in Kingsport.
I'd take MidTown Memphis over any of them. Nothing better than Central Gardens, Overton Square, and Cooper Young imo.
For the record, I'd go:
Memphis
Chattanooga
Nashville
Knoxville
Kingsport
When you have kids, move to the suburbs. I was raised in the suburbs, and it is a great living. My Dad took early retirement so that he didn't have to move. You don't have to worry about what you stated above, good schools, and you can still enjoy the culture and entertainment including the Grizzlies. I am about to have my third child (yes, literally tonight), and we really enjoy where we are.
