Non issue IMO. If a child's parents can't afford or choose not to go to work to take care of their kids needs, they don't need those kids.

Simple concept IMO. Do for your kids, or you won't have them.

JMO

So give the kids to the state? See people that cry about people on welfare and food stamps only care about fetuses. After the kid is born they could care less.

I don't really care if the mother is 10 weeks along, or the child is 12. If the parents can't afford to take care of their children, they should not be having them.

"Yeah, let's have 3 ore kids we can't afford so we can get more "assistance" each month".

Give me a freakin break.

I don't care about fetuses either. I hate other people's kids because they don't know how to behave often. Also, people don't have the skills to teach them how to be decent human beings, and would rather go back to their hedonistic lifestyle.

Once upon a time...in this very thread...I made a playful jab at Burger because he didn't capitalize God...yadayadayada...you can't read it anymore...see where I'm going?

:acute:

They have things called parental units. Parents should be able to provide for their child without govt assistance. If they can't do that, they shouldn't have the kid.

Since you don't have to obtain a permit to have a child and since those children are already born into this world, what are you going to do if their parents don't feed and shelter them? Let them roam the streets like they do in India? Not a country I want to live in.

These social issues are never so simple. Nobody "likes" welfare / food stamps unless they're receiving benefits. Please don't act like those programs are what's crippling our government's budget as they are a very small portion of the overall spending. I don't like paying for police but its better than having thugs roaming our streets. I also don't much care for the long term welfare / food stamps crowd, but it beats having starving homeless children roaming our streets. Are you going to adopt all these children cause I'm not? :loco:

I really wish that I could come to VN WITHOUT finding this mess on recruit threads. How many times must individuals be told to take their personal issues somewhere else.

Probably shouldn't type out those opinions. :ermm:

Burger oftentimes acts like he has "assburgers", but I actually agree with them both on all of the above. The reason America has gotten to this low point is because of entitlement programs. The only things one should possess are those things which one can afford. It's a pretty simple concept when you think about it. That applies to new cars, new phones, new houses, new clothes, and even children.

Food Stamps, Medicare, and social benefits make up for over 50% of our budget. We have a foster system that can use more money rather than giving it to a crack addict, meth head, or something similar. Put the kids in foster homes.

TIL Catbone is a redditor. AMA about narwhal bacons!

Lurker, not a poster :) in all honesty I've learned a lot about things on that site. At the same time, I've also seen so many morons posting ignorant things and lame jokes.

I guess I'm not worthy of raising my kid then. Glad to know you can blanket-statement any stupid rationalization for your ignorances. I'm in a situation that without that little bit of help I get, we might have gone without food in my house. I don't use or abuse the system, we need help. It must be really nice to always have everything you need. Jerks.

It's about being fiscally being responsible. It feels good to agree with ya.

Guys, it's not Burger's fault. As I recently discovered, he was born as a very large but gifted bear, so his hatred for humanity is simply biological.

I go without buddy. You know you can cut back somewhere and not need assistance, or get a better job.

As I said. 2-3 months assistance. That is ALL I would allow for if I were deciding things. After that, a person/parent needs to do for themselves or it's on them. "Assistance" IMO should not be a life long thing.

Now I believe that people should be given a 2-3 month grace period when out of a job, but if they haven't shown a real effort to get back into the work force their funding should be pulled. Finding jobs can be difficult in today's economy, but you can always move to where the jobs are. Many people either just aren't willing to take take jobs because of their pride, the distance, or they are abusing the system.

My situation is a temporary one hopefully. I agree, assistance should not be long term if you can provide. I'm in a situation where my better half is unable to help provide at present and my income barely covers the bills. But you both saying that if you need assistance, you don't deserve your kids is BS man.

Yeah I'm done with this conversation. I apologize to the MODS. Drew Richmond is a beast and I hope he ends up in Orange and White. Good day.
