In the MLS I'm a big fan of the Seattle Sounders. They have (by a fair margin IMO) the craziest and most passionate fanbase in the league. They routinely sell out CenturyLink Field where the Seahawks play. In the English Premier League I'm pretty neutral and honestly I started pulling for players more than a specific club, as that is the first soccer I really got into. I think the MLS will continue to grow and I'm excited about that.

Portland Timbers are fun to follow too. Their atmosphere is world class (no exaggeration)

Okay, that makes sense. If most of them are loaded, I don't see a problem in jumping on a bandwagon.

I think I'll try and keep up for a season and then decide who I like to watch the most.

The loaded ones in the EPL are Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool. Any one of those teams can win the league or finish 5th. Heck Manchester United finished 7th this year. I'd say pick one of those teams based on who you like watching and you'll have tons of fun following them.

I tip every time. If I have a good experience I will seek out management and let them know.

My wife and I ate at this small restaurant in Townsend for our anniversary. The little girl waiting on us was so nice. Her mom brought in her baby so she could see him. That moved us because we could relate when we were younger. Biggest tip I've ever left.

Very rarely do I see a server not give a crap.

The problem is, most people's idea of "bad service" isn't bad at all.

I do like my drinks filled at a reasonable time, but I do understand food takes time to cook. I just tip in accordance to goodness of the service. I don't stiff good service at all though.

I will never stiff anyone, unless they offend me or the people I'm with.

You're taking up their table for a certain amount of time. That is money that the server could be making with another table. If you get everything you need and the server does it without offensive body language or offensive language, you should leave something.

I generally don't even notice my paychecks, so the money I get in tips is the money I make.

If you stiff someone for not filling up your drink quickly enough or not getting something out quickly enough, when they're obviously busy and running around the restaurant, I hate you.

Agree 1000%. I never was a server but worked in the kitchen so I saw plenty.

People who constantly whine about bad service generally A) Have no clue what bad service really is and B) Can probably look in a mirror to find the reason they get "bad service".

Sounds boring, but going on Wikipedia and looking up the team's history, supporters info, kits, etc is actually somewhat helpful.

If you can find anywhere with a decent EPL breakfast during the fall, that's also a blast and a good way to find a team to follow.

What do you guys consider bad service vs. good service then?

P.S.: I actually caught part of a soccer game at my favorite taco hut. All they do is flop and act like girls.

Agreed.

When I'm serving, people that get upset about their drinks really bother me.

The ones that do are typically the ones that absolutely pound their drinks as soon as I refill them. If I have 4 or 5 tables, I can't get to that as quickly as I would like. There's a ton of things I have to do at once.

Guests get mad over the dumbest things, and it's usually their fault for being an inconsiderate guest.

I definitely try to get everything down as quickly as possible, though. I'd say guests are satisfied with my service almost every time. Sometimes I do suck, but everyone has those days.

Thanks, buddy. :hi:

Bad service:

Neglecting a table once the food is out, Never refilling drinks, Standoff-ish when asked for something, etc.

Good service is pretty much the opposite.

Sounds like were agreeing. Servers do have a job to do, but the customer can't make it a no win situation.
A good lesson in life is you never mess with the people who cook their food.

My wife & I and another couple eat almost every Friday at the same restaurant (part of a national chain) and we always get great service. The manager apparently really likes us and sees that we are taken care of properly. He worked his way up from server to where he is now so he knows his job. Although we're all retired and kind of on fixed incomes we always tip at least 30%. I have tipped more when the server was getting slammed and still did a good job of keeping up. Apparently we tip O.K. because some of the servers want us to sit at one of their tables.

Could have said. "tried to watch soccer but some of players flop. Not for me".

FYI I hate some of the over the top flopping.

The guy who was doing the ouch my face routine when he got hit in the arm was funny. If they didn't flop multiple times in a 30 minute period, I might actually not sleep during a game.

You're the man. :salute:

You ever think you'd be defending soccer? Burger brings out strange things in us sometimes, lol

To me, it can be a few different things. Servers ignoring what customers ask for or not taking the time to get things right is an annoyance (granted, if somebody asks for 8 special things to be done with their meal I can't blame them, but ignoring something like "no onions" on a sandwich gets to me).

The main thing that gets me is a server who, if not busy, still manages to ignore a table.
