It's crazy to go so long seeing the Great White as king and then
the Orca just treats it like a cheap breakfast burrito.
My whole world is a lie!
Lol... I know right...
1st, we find out Pluto isnt a planet, now this. Smh.
Whats next? Orca week?
FALSE... They're porpoises
Orcas, or killer whales, are the largest of the dolphins and one of the world's most powerful predators. They feast on marine mammals such as seals, sea lions, and even whales, employing teeth that can be four inches long. They are known to grab seals right off the ice.
You too will learn to listen to my daughter when she speaks. Her memory is incredible. When she reads or hears something, she rarely forgets it.
Orca (Killer Whale) | National Geographic
Want me to go all science teacher on you? Because I will. Orcas, dolphins (fresh and salt), pilots etc are from the Superfamily of Delphinodea (porpoises). This Superfamily is split up into many different Families. One family has orcas and pilot whales. Another has dolphins. Another narwhals. So on and so forth. You could say they are "dolphins" but a more accurate description is "toothed whale".... I need to make this into a power point for my marine biology class.
More looking into it, "whales", dolphins, and porpoises are 3 distinct subfamilies and genus. Porpoises are the smallest and are usually found in specific areas. The vaquito being the smallest and most endangered of the subfamily. Dolphins, of course, are the middle subfamily. Then the largest are the "whales" (using quotations because they aren't whales). With the largest being the orca.
