I'm good..those name it and claim it guys sicken me.

On the argument of Christian faith...you either believe or you don't. I had problems with my faith for years, but then God moved in my life in ways that are not quantifiable in any way to unbelievers, but to me they are more solid than the earth we live on. You see this world, this universe as a whole, as the solid reality, I see it as the vapor, the temporal illusion that it is. You believe in the creation, not the creator...I know you guys hate and mock the writers of the Bible, especially the New Testament, you think they were charlatans like men such as Jesse Duplantis. I believe they were led by the Holy Spirit of God to write and live the Gospel that informs my faith...And one such writer tells me.."For we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen, for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen..they are eternal"

That is a joke to most people now, but that is not a strange thing to me, the Gospel told me it would be so.

Believe or not believe, that is your choice. I will not deny the miracles that God has done for me.

I appreciate that and the way you handle the conversation. I think sometimes, on both sides, people shoot down the other side as impossible. I don't like when people just dismiss other people's religion as flat out wrong. You can disagree and state yer points and what you believe the truth to be without attacking other people's beliefs and religions. Which I think you have done throughout. Thanks.

Whatever God does is his business. All I can do is my best to teach what I believe is the truth to people who seek it. That is all I can, or want to do. I don't want anybody to be lost. His ways are higher than our ways, and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts. He is the one that tries the heart and searches the reins..not me, and I am sooooo thankful for that.

This sounds really nice in our current politically correct climate. It sounds like the right thing to do to act as though everyone could be right and we can't say who is right or who is wrong. But that is not what we are taught in the Bible nor is it the example of Christ and the Apostles. They were not friendly to false religions or false teachers. They did not act as though everyone could be correct. They said things like the following:

"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves."

Jesus spent an entire chapter in Matthew's gospel, 23, condemning false teachers such as the Pharisees with statements like this:

"Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves." (Matthew 23:15).

Paul said the following:

"But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed." Galatians 1:8.

The Apostle John is the same way:

"Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also." 1st John 2:22-23.

This may not be politically correct, but it is the way that Christ and the Apostles addressed false teachers and false teaching. I am a Christian. I believe the Bible. the Bible does not allow for the possibility of other ways outside of Christ. And thus, when I present the gospel, I will not do so from a position that someone who denies Christ is in a good place and could possibly be correct. My duty as a Christian is to mimic Christ and His apostles.

I will do so respectfully, I will not insult anyone and I always try to be gentle and reverent, but I will not act as though these sayings in the Bible aren't there. You can attack beliefs without attacking people. It happens in respectful apologetic debates all the time.

I believe Jesus when he said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me"

I take his word for it. It is his Gospel not mine. The choice is the individuals whether to believe or not.."He that believeth and is baptised shall he saved, he that believeth not, shall he damned"

I have never, nor will I ever do as some do, and try to exalt myself as being more merciful than God is. Jesus is the Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary and raised on the third day triumphant over death, hell and the grave. I will never deny that.

Sorry if this ruffles some feathers but George Carlin was the best and this is on topic. And I saw this special at the Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville when I was a student at UT. Fantastic show.

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools" Romans 1:18-22

"Slaves, be subject to your masters with all reverence, not only to those who are good and equitable but also to those who are perverse." (1 Peter 2:18)

Benevolence? I am far from being benevolent, but this sounds like pure evil. The entirety of the Bible has man's fingerprints all over it.

I always looked at religion as a fear mongering tool used to keep people in line.

That’s because you’re reinterpreting slavery of that day through the lens of American slavery. They were not the same thing

And heeeere we go...it is to be expected. It hurts to be a laughing stock, I'd be a liar if I said it didn't, but it is also a blessing according to Jesus.. so mock away, at least for now that is about all you can do in this country, our Christian brothers and sisters in foreign lands are getting real persecution. I expect it to get a lot worse shortly in this country. I hope all the brothers and sisters in Christ in the west are ready for it. Will we still stand strong for what we profess to believe when they threaten to take our children?..our property?..our livelihoods? When they bulldoze churches? They are doing some of these things already over the issue of Homosexuality. Look at the false churches giving in and watering down the Gospel..all the signs are there. I pray for strength for us. It is only going to get worse.

It is going to get a lot tougher that is for sure.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:11-12

Have zero issues with anyone's faith but come on. How is it possible for a group to
Account for 70% of the country.
Pass Gray law after Gray law, telling people what day they can drink or if it's even allowed in their county.
Burn people at the stake for "witchcraft".
At different periods, make it illegal not to agree with them.
Hound me at intersections, parking lots and even my home, telling me I will be eternally punished if I don't join them.
And still get to play the "victim" card. That's just bull****.

Because things in America are easy for Christians right now. But in the world at large it is the most persecuted religion in the world today. There are more Christians being persecuted and killed now than at any one time in history. In America Christians are by far the most mocked religion in media which is a form of persecution as Jesus said in Matthew 5 that I quoted earlier. Things will get worse eventually here is McGill’s point.

Exactly...mockery is just the first step.

So,you have a small taste of how everyone else has felt for countless centuries. I feel ya.

The idea that anyone in America is in danger of having their children, property, or livelihoods taken from them because of religion or lack there of is laughable at best, paranoid fear mongering at worst
