Give me Nolan for the fastball and Maddux for the best control.

To me it is Maddux. He did crazy things in an ERA where the other guys did have steroids and it was most certainly not the dead ball era. He never walked hardly anyone and was just crazy. Can't remember the stat that I saw one time that showed how incredible his control was about not even getting to a three ball count or something. Gibson was great but pitched before the mound was lowered. In 1968, pitching dominated so much that they lowered the mound to create more O. Maddux did it with the lower mound and the batters taking the juice.

After the 1919 blacksox scandle, Babe Ruth saved the game of baseball. With what was mentioned above, playing both as a pitcher and then hitter makes it a no brainer. Steroids rule out anyone in that era as greatest of all time. It comes down to Ruth, Aaron, and Mays. I would give Ruth the edge just because he did both and won World Series games even as a pitcher. Otherwise, it is a dead heat between Hank and Willie.

Ted Williams was a better hitter than both Aaron & Mays. Didn’t have Willie’s glove though.

I agree with this but hope you don't think Hank was just a home run hitter. Leads in many different records. Also, came up as a SS and was an incredible fielder. No one was like Willie with the glove but Aaron was one of the better ones at the time.

Was just saying Mays is the standard for defense in the outfield

Completely agree. Aaron is remembered for breaking the Babe's HR record, but is really under appreciated as an overall player. Check his stats.

The way the umps squeezed him in the playoffs and WS during his Braves years was criminal. He got completely hosed nearly every time he took the mound it seemed like.

That over the shoulder catch at the cavernous Polo Grounds and then pivoting at a dead run away from the plate and throwing a strike back to the infield to hold the runner is maybe the greatest defensive play of all time.

Cat...you're a music guy. What do you recommend? Looking for a quality earbud to use for phone calls and working out at gym.

Don't get me wrong apple makes some good products, they're just grossly overpriced. To be honest I haven't been in that market so I really can't judge but my brother and dad have these and love em Amazon.com: SENSO Bluetooth Headphones, Best Wireless Sports Earphones w/Mic IPX7 Waterproof HD Stereo Sweatproof Earbuds for Gym Running Workout 8 Hour Battery Noise Cancelling Headsets: Electronics

Has anyone here purchased the Apple Airpods and what is your opinion of them?

No idea about the AirPods but I have Skybuds and I love them. Has a dock that you plug them into when they are charging with the plug but the dock also holds a charge when it isn’t plugged in so you can charge your buds if needed on the go. Had them since Christmas and no problems. Good quality too.
