He's still early in his career and lot can happen, but we really may be watching the best ever in Mike Trout. There's a lot of ifs there but if he can keep going at what he has done so far.

What doctor would regulate steroids?

What doctors regulate other drugs? Testerone, HGH, and other types of steroids and drugs are regulated by doctors for the health of an individual. I have a friend who has low test and gets treatmen. Same could be done.

HGH is not the same as steroids. The steroids you get for a cough aren't the same as what made Barry Bonds go from a 7 3/8 hat to a 9 1/4 hat.

What these guys were doing wasn't healthy. Just look at professional wrestlers from the 80's and 90's.

I Know that. Those guys were abusing steroids, that’s the point. But any drug, even aspirin, is dangerous if abused. Hence the importance of regulation.

Yeah. I think playing out west hurts his exposure. He is incredible.

Forget baseball. One of the best comedies ever made. Every bit actor was perfect, especially Uecker.

Yo bartender, Jobu needs a refill!!

The Asian player running the bases with the "marbles" hand gestures send me into absolute hysterics.

Willie Mays (The Say Hey kid) is my favorite player all time. I saw him only briefly when he played for the Mets in the early 70s, but those highlights from his Giants' days. Wow.

My granddad used to have me face him, then throw a ball behind me where I’d have to catch the ball over my shoulder like that famous Mays catch. I don’t think I actually ever caught a ball like that in a game but it was a fun drill.

It is and it should be celebrated. He was one of my favorite players but he's far from the best. He wasn't even the best shortstop of his time.

There are so many categories in baseball.

Best power hitter.
Best OBP
BA
RBI
K's

You could even break pitchers down to
Fastball
Curve
Closer

The “most talented” player to ever step foot on the diamond was Mickey Mantle.

He was great, but still didn’t live / play up to his potential.

Babe Ruth is the goat in baseball and it isn’t close. He was the top pitcher in baseball and then decided he wanted to hit all the time. He was the most prolific hitter of his era. When he started the homerun barrage there weren’t homerun hitters. Some years he hit more homeruns by himself than other teams hit combined.

He did things that at the time were impossible for other players to do. There never will be someone who is that far above everyone else in their time, than he was.

Bonds, Aaron and those guys were awesome but he did it when nobody else could.

After the 1919 blacksox scandle, Babe Ruth saved the game of baseball. With what was mentioned above, playing both as a pitcher and then hitter makes it a no brainer. Steroids rule out anyone in that era as greatest of all time. It comes down to Ruth, Aaron, and Mays. I would give Ruth the edge just because he did both and won World Series games even as a pitcher. Otherwise, it is a dead heat between Hank and Willie.
