lol actually a huge percentage of "illegals" are people who come over with work visas and just stay after it expires.

So yeah, walls and border security are a pretty dumb way to try and police that if you're actually interested in curbing the number of people living in the US illegally. If you're looking to hand out some fat contracts to campaign donors, on the other hand...

All the vast majority of Americans are asking is for their elected officials to enforce the laws that they want (compel) us as citizens to abide by that are already on the books. It really is that simple, which is not being done. The method of how they do that is left to those elected officials to decide. Just get it done.

That takes care of national defense, illegal immigration, federal deficits, etc. If the candidate does not support the rule of law and skirts the enforcement they should not be elected and if already in office they should be tossed out.

I own my own business and have hired many. In general they do work hard but many don't. Your characterization of people that are opposed to opening the border shows how uninformed you really are.

Many of these immigrants are paid off the books for obvious reasons. When they start getting a check and they notice 1/2 of it's gone they may have a different view of the American dream.
