But if Freak or Ron had posted it, you and the rest of the volnation sheep would be sitting there with your thumbs in your mouths saying "tell us what to think now. I must fit the mold of every other volnation fanboy so I don't feel like this is another place I don't fit in to"

I thought you were checking out to drink beer?

Butch does not have an obligation to the fanbase to hire an OC of our choosing. Butch does have an obligation to the fanbase to win games. If his OC flops and we have a poor year next year, fans have every right to question his decision making. Like it or not, Butch has a job at UT because a fanbase exists. If football didn't make money for UT, there wouldn't be a program.

As many are fond of saying, college football is a business.

I can agree with most of this, but your second to last sentence isn't necessarily true. In fact, the vast majority of football programs exist even though they are nothing but a major suck-hole to the budget, often requiring funds from the academic side of the school. This is off subject, but I believe most of what is bad about college football now is because of the fans, but most of what is good about football would exist even if it is played and no one watched. Further, football existed as a game before there were fans. Don't believe me? Build a stadium as big as you want. Fill it up with people and see if a couple football teams just magically appear.

Butch right now can do no wrong so bring on DeBord. That said if this goes south the spin zone Butch likes to roll out will be the tornado that rips it up. Sometimes I wouldn't mind a little drunk Steve Spurrier.

Hubbs is missing the point that his original post made it out to seem like Debord was possibly going to be the #2 guy in ATL, when that's most likely not the case. He may not even be a position coach unless the staff reports for the Falcons have been mistaken.

That said, my only concern is if it's Debord, we have no experienced QB coach, when we could likely have our pick of qb coaches/OCs wanting to come here for a sweet setup of three 4* freshmen QBs and a loaded offensive roster with a lot of experience.

I would encourage those of you who seem to be intolerant to the idea of having DeBord as OC to watch the video posted below.

A Michigan fan sent it to a TN fan and told him to watch it. The story behind it is that while DeBord was OC under Rich Rod at Michigan, he pleaded with him to let him run a spread offense against Florida (and Tebow/CUM) in the 2008 Capital One Bowl. He felt like if he could spread Florida out, they would win.

And they did win. The guy knows how a spread offense works. His record as an OC is amazing and he knows every defense under the sun. If Butch thinks DeBord is an upgrade, I am 100% behind him.

The reaction to DeBord is a lot like the initial reaction to Janceck. Obviously the fanbase got that one wrong.

If Butch trusts DeBord than so do I.

I'm glad Butch has the cajones to pick his guy and damn the torpedos. For once it'd be cool not to watch UT go the circuitous route to success.

I'll quote Ron's most famous post because it is quite fitting to you and this comment.

"Wrong. Dumb post is DUMB."

Oh....and shut up and go back to the FF you mouth-breather!
