We did go after Mullen. He had an offer. It’s been reported he was close to taking our job before Florida came in.

UT needs to clean house, Bev and Currie should step down today. Other big boosters should come forward and demand Haslam to back off. There needs to be a re-set in the admin, David Blackburn to AD and Fulmer to oversee football operations until a new coach is hired and things settle down.

Hey freak, any way you can dig up posts from 2012 to see what fan sentiment was about Schiano prior to the Penn state accusations becoming public? I remember his name being pretty well-received as a candidate for what he was doing at Rutgers. I'd love to be able to shove it in the face of these national media people who think this has nothing to do with the allegations from 2016.

The problem is that Currie, Haslam, Big Jim, Et al. Felt that Schiano was the best available coach after we didn’t get a Gruden (which we should have known weeks ago) and we missed on Mullen. So we made a quick call on Schiano instead. They could have spent a week floating his name to gauge Fan reaction and allowed al of this to play out before it was official.

No one else was going after this guy. We had no competition. And we were not even getting him for another 7 days anyway.

Timing was a HUGE part of this problem.

Different timing and we would have either gotten comfortable with the PSU stuff and only been angru with football issues or they could have saw the outrage coming and gone to plan D without embarrassing us so bad we are now down to plan M.

Oh, in that case then Currie botched this even more! If money was no object, like he said, he be in Knoxville today.
I never saw where he was offered, officially.

We are getting slammed on Mike and Wingi show. McFarland said we deserve what we get cause there is no named coach that would take this job. They said schiano has been supported by Bilicheck and Myers. That Tampa bucs even hired him. They are making us look as bad as they can. Said Currie had no backbone nor the higher ups for not sticking to there choice. But us fans were wrong for judging him on hear say.

Lemme get this straight. This brotha is doin business in Knoxville, watches this fanbase mobilize for an unprecedented and impossible block of the coach wanted by the most powerful man in the state...

And he wants to publicly “come at me bro?”

We have had the most incompetent administration ever in the last 10 years. We messed up 3 football hires, hired 2 cheaters and one non-recruiter in basketball, and at least 2 guys who didn't work out in baseball. After yesterday, we will be lucky to hire a high school coach. There is too much influence by a family that runs the worst franchise in the NFL and a business that cheated its own customers. It is time for a change!

He was hired at those places BEFORE the 2016 depositions were unsealed.

Quite the opposite on First team on SiriusXM. They are blasting Currie and how ineptly he handled this. Wondered what was going on with him thinking a hire like this would unite the fan base.

Yes correct. Just posting what is being said. Their point was that it happened in 2011 I think and that if there was anything after all these years it would have come out when being hired by these teams. Also they are calling it he said, he said stuff and never proven. They grilling us fans.
