Parents of VN, y'all got any advice for going from one kid to two? My wife is due any day now. Our son just turned 2 about a month ago.
Ours are 21 months apart. It will be hard in the beginning, mainly due to sleep deprivation. But it gets much easier, quickly.

We let our daughter pick out a stuffed animal to give our son when he was born. And we got her a gift bag from him to make her feel special on that day as well.

And couldn’t convert two 4th downs inside Mizzou’s 35 yard line.
Both were pretty wild.

The first one I couldn't get over early in the game. Hyatt was WIDE OPEN at the sticks and HH was...idk where he was looking tbh. Must have been looking deep because he was looking down Hyatt's side of the field.

Second one just a clear drop.

Not going to complain we didn't score 80 (lol), but we seriously could have 🤣🤣

nope. we're currently pregnant with our 2nd. we have a 3 yr old. could probably use some of the same advice
You’re 4 months ahead of me but I’ll be reading the advice as well so thanks for asking. Got a 16 month old and wife is expecting in March. Two kids under 2 😬

4 year old and 2 year old here, was in your boat 2-3 years ago, had two under two and thought i would never sleep again

you really won't know what you're in for until you get home. our first didn't feed well, our second was a banshee.

sleep schedule is key, routine is key. pick a time for dinner, then do bath, read 2-3 books, boom call it a night

nice-to-haves: my wife made us do this program called Taking Cara Babies and I'll be damned if it wasn't worth it. Disney+ has been a godsend. Snoo. Airpods Pro for keeping one in while calming baby down at whatever hour, for however long (lol).

when you take the kids out, gotta do man defense. 1 parent/guardian per child. you can do zone, you might be great at it, but that 10% of the time that you can't see/handle both is when something crazy happens

get used to being sick, they bring home all sorts of stuff from daycare. speaking of daycare depending on what city/town you're in i'd go ahead and lock that down. It's brutal in Mid TN.

research a 529 if you haven't yet, pick a good state and use their program. have family/friends donate to those (easy to provide links now) as opposed to junk presents.

happy to answer other questions if you guys have them

I have my first due in a matter of weeks. 12/20 is the due date. Fiancé still wants to go to the game this weekend since we only live an hour away. Haven’t been to a home game because of the hills she’d have to walk, but Columbia is flat. Still concerning to me, but who knows when we’ll be able to go back to a game once the baby is here.

Having our first in January (due date), I’m excited, nervous and happy. So any advice is welcomed.

Get the baby in their crib in their own room as soon as it is safe to do so. Get them used to sleeping by themselves. It might be hell at first, but it pays off in the long run. You will get a lot more sleep.

I want to be able to snow ski, waterski and wakeboard into my 80s if I choose to. I realized as I approached my 60th birthday that I had been overweight (for me, too high body fat %, not enough lean body mass). I have decided that I am leaving my fat 50s behind.

Body weight squats have been a great way for me to lose weight, gain leg strength and endurance without endangering my back. Back surgery in 1992.
Body weight squats allowed me to get in shape for a 60+ mile hiking trip in the mountains of New Mexico at the Philmont Boy Scout High Adventure Camp (with a 60 lb backpack). I did squats then with my backpack at 50 lbs. and body weight only. (Age 57.)

I have a rowing machine that I am addicted to as well.
I lift weights for upper body, but not as often as I want to.

I will not go gently into my older years. I’m going to fight, and play, and enjoy as much as I can. I have partners that tell me that they are getting too old to do the things that I do. They are all 10 years or more younger than I am! Giving up and giving in like that is how you age gracelessly. I just laugh at them. They want to fade away, fine for them. No way in Hell is that gonna happen to me. You act OLD, you get OLD.
Eff that noise.

Love it! 👍

I’ve got you by a decade. Fitness walking and golf are my things. The back and core had become weak due to age, inactivity, COVID, shingles and other demands on my time. Had blown off healthy eating as well.

I had enough of it a month ago. Use a great chiro who goes about it all holistically. Getting rid of the bad carbs and kicked up the fitness walking, stretching and upper body strength training. By spring I plan to have dropped 25 lbs and be much stronger. Need to chase the little white ball more and start teaching the grandsons the game.

When I was a child, I remember my mother telling me not to come out of my room until the clock read “seven oh oh”. She was brilliant with that.

Haha....yep. I didn't know about the clocks that changed colors until my oldest was born. We would set it to 7:00, too, and they couldn't come out until it was green.

My wife and I went to the UK game precisely because of that. It might be years until we can comfortably go back to Neyland.

There have been plenty off topic conversations in this thread and it’s not really a big deal…These are amazing Vol children they’re discussing..I enjoy it personally.🤷‍♀️

SIAP: Shooter in custody. Supposedly the former player had been harassed/bullied by a group of these players and targeted them when they returned from a trip on a school bus. Supposedly a class field trip that they were all returning from.
damn man

Walking is perfectly fine even up to her due date. Just don't overdue it or try to work out with exercises she doesn't normally do.

My wife has been to a UT game and walked the Miami Zoo (huge property) within 6 weeks of 2 of our kids being born.

This particular thread is more of a recruiting forum community thread. If you dislike the content, I'm sure there are many other areas of VN you can hang out.

I disagree. It doesn’t belong in this forum. Move to the Pub.
Shut up...go back to whatever hole you crawled out of. If we (us old RF regulars that have been here for years and years) didn't like it posted in here we would let him and the mod squad know.

You don't matter...now go away or join in.

Personally, I suspect they've loaded his contract with performance incentives which is fine. Like you pointed out, there's no sense to create a Jimbo/aTm type situation. Knee jerk business decisions rarely turn out well.
for the first time since I was a student we have a coach that clearly knows what he is doing. After countless raises and extensions for nothing, why even argue that Huepel doesn’t deserve all the money we can give for this incredible year. If there’s anyone who deserves us to jimbo them it’s Huepel. He’s worked a legit miracle.

Anyone else disappointed in the Yellowstone season premiere?

It's a storyline on loop.
Dad, if you do this ppl will come after us -
does thing - ppl come after them

Betrayed by Jamie, starts to trust Jamie,
Beth is mean to Jamie, betrayed by Jamie

Plus there are several storylines that I couldn't care less about: they should have killed off Kayce's wife so he could get back to ranching. Jmo

Congratulations!

My daughter, recently turned 3 has been to 3 UT games in Neyland. 1 game each year. It's tough but she did great at all of them. Bama 2020 (limited capacity), Ole Miss 2021 (left near end of 3rd quarter), Florida 2022.

Great movie, great quote. I got in a lot of fights when I was younger, often over stupid ****. But I think telling boys that they can’t fight and treating them like women contributes to this. Boys need an outlet for their aggression. If they pent all of it up for so long, it’ll explode in dangerous ways.

I’m not saying that we should just legalize assault, but at some point, boys just have to fight it out. We don’t let them do that any more.

CJS - 34 total TDs and 4 INTs. 2,833 total yards

HH - 29 total TDs and 2 INTs. 3,293 total yards

Now consider SoS and big wins...

Jmo but Stroud needs a huge game vs Michigan. He needs a signature win.

HH is about to put up some huge stats vs the 2 worst SEC defenses. Really hope we let HH get all the tuddies. He could easily get 15 more TDs if we let him take them. People seeing him get 7-8 total TDs/game could make a hig swing imo

Wild to think if Heupel went full "leave no doubt" mode for HH Heisman voters he could add another 10-12 TDs and 1000k total yards easily.
