I really hope that our boys are pissed off today instead of disheartened...that will be a big difference if we make it to play them again. They can't go in with doubt.
Playing so many big games at home and Death Valley being so docile this year had made them a unprepared for it...It is understandable.Clemson and the ACC are out. That has to be so. Undefeated left- TCU, who has a good strength of schedule and Michigan/Ohio State who play each other. Bama who is usually in it is gone. I think Georgia can beat LSU. Hyatt admitted that crowd noise was a major factor, so I hope fans who are capable buy up tickets at SC and Vandy because we are definitely still in this thing. SC in particular will consider our team their superbowl.
I think our VOLS do depend on our fans to help be the 12th man and on a neutral field things would be much better.
What you say about the rule is correct. There were two calls yesterday that just stunk. The Mizzou/UK/punter incident was the first one. The ball was live. Had Mizzou recovered it they would have taken possession. That the punter was able to recover it and punt it was lucky for them, but no way should that be roughing to tackle a guy recovering a loose ball in that situation. So ridiculous.
The other was the fumble that LSU recovered. That the Bama guy was out of bounds and touched it after the LSU guy had it in his hands, should not negate the LSU recovery. It should rule the Bama guy out as to being able to recover it. LSU made a great play causing a fumble and recovering it, then gets punished and it taken away by the guy who made the bad play with the fumble. Another great big stupid.
My son just texted me and he has rewatched the game...he said he counted three times that if Hooker had hit wide open receivers that we would have won...he said it made him really nervous about playing us again.
This will always be our lot under Heupel against really great defenses. If our QBs hit those passes we win, if we don't we lose. The plays are there, there are less of them than in a normal game, and the QBs will be under pressure...but the plays will always be there.
Those plays were there, but I still think the biggest issue is that our offense is too stubborn about pushing the ball deep in the passing game. UGA was willing to vacate the middle of the field, especially in the 10-15 yard window when they blitzed and Hooker usually didn't have a single option to get rid of the ball quick. I blame many of the sacks on him holding the ball too long due to most receivers running 15+ yards down the field. Sometimes you have to just take what's there and be smarter about when you take your shots deep. I think a rematch would come with a much better plan on offense from Heupel. My son just texted me and he has rewatched the game...he said he counted three times that if Hooker had hit wide open receivers that we would have won...he said it made him really nervous about playing us again.

This is exactly the order it will be. Once Michigan loses to OSU or TCU loses, we get back into the top four. They do not move teams out unless they lose. As long as we handle our last three teams (we will), we are in the playoff. Anyone worried about one loss pac 12 or one loss ACC champion are crazy. We have seen how the committee views those teams.
Win out and we are in the playoff. It really is that simple since Bama and Clemson lost.
Yeah, I saw on a few instances that we had a guy coming open it deep over the middle and Hooker chose the short route too quickly. I think the defense getting pressure so quickly many times sped up his time clock where normally he is much more patient. My son just texted me and he has rewatched the game...he said he counted three times that if Hooker had hit wide open receivers that we would have won...he said it made him really nervous about playing us again.

Michigan should handle OSU.We need next weekend to come as soon as possible. Wipe that loss off and kick some a**.
Texas is going to beat TCU and we will be in the playoff.
After the season shakes out, here is how I see the final rankings:
1. UGA
2. OSU
3. UT
4. USC (Pac-12 sneaks in for the first time)
ACC is terrible and out. Big 12 beats each other and keeps themselves out. Playoff has wanted a Pac-12 team in for years and will have a reason to put them in this year. USC will beat Oregon.
They didn't block the kick. If they'd blocked the kick there wouldn't have been a problem. He tackled the punter just after the punter barely kicked it out of bounds. Punter was still in the box so it was roughing. So the team that blocked the kick is penalized because the snap was bad but not bad enough? What an asinine rule lol
There were holes all over the place...also Hendon needs to throw it at the ground towards the WRs that are getting literally mugged all the way down the field. Him not throwing it in those situations kept UGA from getting sure DPI and DH calls. If we meet again, Heupel will know exactly what UGA plans to do on defense. There's no way UGA deviates from something that worked so well the first time. I think Heupel would put together a good plan of attack and it would be a competitive game.
Wait... your son is a Georgia fan?My son just texted me and he has rewatched the game...he said he counted three times that if Hooker had hit wide open receivers that we would have won...he said it made him really nervous about playing us again.
