I think Kirby will limit our run game outside of a few chunk plays. He hates allowing the run more than anything. I think both teams will lean on the passing game and it will come down to if our receivers can win matchups. But bru and hyatt are third and fourth in the SEC at yards per target against man coverage and obviously tillman would be right there with them if he had been healthy. I really don’t know how you deal with that lol

I agree. He will key on the run game and rely on his secondary to try and contain big plays. That’s an extremely tall task though and I don’t see any team stopping the passing game if you are trying to play man coverage, even with two high safeties. Just look at the way Heupel attacked the right high safety in the UK game on Hyatts first TD. Heupel made that safety make a choice: provide help to the CB covering Tillman on the post route which Tillman had great inside leverage, or roll to the outside and provide coverage to the outside guy against Hyatt. Either way, a long completion or long TD was on the docket. Heupel will figure out which advantage he likes and he will attack it and then the moment UGA adjusts he will find the new match up to attack. As long as Hooker has time to throw, they won’t stop this passing game IMO.

@JB_Vol game prediction?

I feel slightly more confident about this one than I did against Bama (thought my BVS still kicks in some). All of the pressure is on Georgia to win...

There is no way that we shut down Will Anderson and Bama's defense and put 52 on them and not score in the high 30s or low 40s on Georgia. Bryce Young put up lots of passing yards on us, but most of those yards were when he got out of the pocket and flung it down the field (very few from in the pocket). Bennett will not be able to do that (imho). And, if we get Slaughter/Tank/Banks to pop Bowers once or twice and hold him to "reasonable yardage", I think they may find it more difficult to score than they think. We have beat better running backs (Pitt's RB and Gibbs). We have beat better QBs (Young and Levis). We have faced better defenses (top 2 SEC West and a good UK team) than GA has faced (bottom 3 SEC East and yes they played Oregon but PAC 12 teams don't have defenses).

I hate making predictions (always feel like I jinx the team), but since you asked nicely - VOLS 42 / GA 31

Way back before the Bama game I was thinking about between Ga and Alabubba, which one of the two would be easier to defeat. My answer was unequivocal, had to be Georgia.
Now the Ga game is here and I still feel the same way. Bryce Young isn’t going to run out clad in red and Stetson just doesn’t scare me.

Truly believe our coach is a much better schemer than Kirby so as long as we do it turn the ball over we will win. Don’t know by how much but one point is good enough!

I just can't believe this is all real. It's like every day it becomes more surreal.
Ok guys, Pink Floyd's "Have a Cigar" played constantly in my head for 8 or 9 days after the Bama win. I woke up with it playing in my head today and it hasn't stopped. I know cigars aren't part of the UGA game, but oh well, I hope this is a good sign!

I know what you mean Chuckie, I keep thinking I'm going to wake up and see that we are kicking off the season with Ball St. tonight!
