i talked about this after the Bama game....all Josh Heupel has done is take the Pruitt leftovers and some transfers, and turned them in to the #1 team in the country.

it's remarkable.

Stock & Barrel, Preservation Pub, Soccer Taco, Tomato Head, Cafe 4, Not Watson's all pretty reasonable. Sounds like you hit up Oliver Royale though which is one of the most expensive spots there.

I think I've hit every spot on MS and Gay Street at this point and very few did I think were expensive. But I mean there isn't any place there doing $2 pints or anything either.


Guess it depends on what you consider expensive.

Versus O'Charleys and the other watering holes/jello shot places. Back in College I had to work to eat. No Oliver Royale for me. Kids nowadays drive BMW SUV's.

My point was prices of strip, $10 cover for all you can drink relative to average prices of drinks in MS.

Sounds like you're a cheap date or you hate good food.

But if all you want is cheap beer I guess that makes sense. You went to two places on Market Square and suddenly "no place" was cheap? ;)

My old VOLS flag blew off the car-- we searched for it this morning with no luck. Edit ((It couldn't be lucky--we lost for years with it) I'm tazing myself.. Getting nervous.

I think this game hinges on Cooper and Beasley. He hasn't been talked about enough this year. He is bigger, stayed healthy and played very well. If we can manage the DTs of Ga with Coop, Carvin and Sprag we win this game easily. We have to win 1st down and then keep people out of Hooker's face when we throw. Beasley got beat several times in the Bama game but otherwise has been great. If he can limit their TEs, it's a comfortable win. If not, it's who has the ball last like Bama.

I'm honestly more excited to see how he evolves the offense as DC's try to adjust to it year after year. It's evolved since his time as OC at Missouri and even from his time at UCF.

the first line was about Stetson Bennet being a mediocre qb...and it turned it off. that dude is not mediocre. people think he is cause he's a 5'10" white kid that looks about as athletic as Opie Taylor. lol.

yet he's one of the best QB's at escapability, very quick feet, and has shown over time not to be careless with the football, mostly. and he's most certainly benefited from the talent around him, i don't think anone would know who he was if he played at say south carolina or missouri.....so don't misunderstand what i'm saying.

he's very annoying to play against, and i've said it all week, while he's definitley not bryce young, he can do bryce young type things in and out of the pocket, and is hard to get on the ground.

so while i'm not scared of Stetson Bennett, he is not mediocre by any stretch.

I lived downtown in college. There are plenty of affordable options for food and drinks. The speakeasy and wherever y’all went for dinner aren’t where the students are hanging out (we hit the speakeasy a couple times but that was a rarity).

Pres pub doesn’t do 2 dollar beers but they got the pubby buddy lol. PBR and a shot of well whisky for five smackers. Got me through some lean years in school lmao.

Oy. I went back and looked at texts I sent after Heupel was hired. I had recently convinced myself that I was cautiously optimistic at the time. Not at all. I was mired in complacent hand-wringing about the dismal state of our program. I said in one text that the only home run hire would have been Matt Campbell. 🤡💩.
So glad I was not in charge of the coaching search, and from here on out I relinquish any right to second-guess our staff and admin (as if I had one to begin with).

Man, we got it good!

Now I’m going to go delete all those texts…
