I feel like no one can properly explain to me the whole effected/affected thing.

Affect is usually a verb, and it means to impact or change. Effect, on the other hand, is usually a noun that you would use to indicate the result of a change.

That one always gets me. Shouldn't it be effected, like cause and effect? I thought affect meant something like "to act like something". As in, "Brian Kelly affected a stupid Cajun accent when he took the job at LSU."

Correct. Must have been just outside the red zone on that fumbled pass play. I do remember thinking “This is not how we need to be starting the game right out of the gate” after those two drives especially sense we just marched right on down the field. If we’d gone up 14-0 that game would have looked completely different.
