Turnage was listed out. There were like 5 or 6 players but no comment on if it was injury or discipline. I think Nimrod was one and Campbell was another.

Campbell, yeah that would have been one I would have expected to see more of.

I'd say they were willing to go, but staff likely kept some guys out since it was Ball State.

We played a ton of guys though last night...honestly that's my favorite thing about the win. I saw Josephs almost pick 6 a HB swing route early in the game, he looks like a WR playing edge so I get why they think he's not physically ready yet, but good lord did he look explosive!

sigh, sports betting.

I read the casino here Breeestul NETS about 4 million per month, which is only bare bones. Generated 12 mill, and, created more than 37 total.... in a month.

That is a crap ton of income from an area with one of the lowest total incomes in Virginia.

Is it good or bad? I dunno, I just know as middle class earner, Id prefer to see a consistent ROI than gambling.

To each his own though, good luck.
People make money from it. You just have to be smart, not bet with emotion and manage your bankroll well. You honestly can get a slow and consistent 1-2% per week over time as long as you don't chase huge parlays.

I just want to point out that yes I was a little disappointed with the pressure I expected to generate, however everyone has to keep in mind how little you typically learn from game one blowouts.
We may end up being able to generate great pressure and have a great D-line, but we also might continue to struggle. I don’t think this game answers anything about that question one way or the other.

You mentioned Gaston Moore and not Nico though...you should be sharper today, being you turned the game off early and went to bed.

I told you next year's pecking order Milton then Nico. TJ is the only QB on squad that has any shot at beating out Nico for QB 2, but he may transfer...no clue yet.

To think Gaston Moore will ever be our QB 2 is crazy talk.
Well, I may have had a beverage or three.

WR rotation is gonna be a lot stronger this year.

Hooker looked good, not great.

RBs looked good, not great.

Defense looked improved overall, at the very least in terms of depth. Interior DL is the weakest group.

I think Burrell might be a liability out there once again against talent.

If Joe Milton steps in and has his **** together, can run the offense without missing a beat.

Didn't really learn anything about the O line. They looked good against no pash rush and empty boxes.

That's about it.

Some of y'all are overthinking the Milton situation. He lowered his shoulder on runs last year, just had that glitch vs OM. And his touch on those short flare routes is just fine.

Hopefully we can play up more in the secondary to prevent the quick releases. We were giving them too many 6, 8 yard chucks in the passing game last night. Maybe we're not wanting to show too much (hope that is it).
that is formation based, with the offense running a lot of 2 te sets the safeties would be more into the middle of the field so not as much help over the top.

Jalen Hyatt catches the first pass and scores, but is pretty much a ghost the rest of the game. Walker Merrill jukes the CB out of his shoes and is wide open for a TD. Wondering if Walker starts getting more chances. I'm not sold on Jalen in the slot just yet.

You determined all this just by watching a complete blowout where the staff was rotating receivers almost 10 deep?

Perhaps we should get our future QB more reps in trash time?

This WR group is a bit different...cause really you got 3 guys that are basically the same WR with Tillman, Bru, Keyton. All big guys that can punish smaller corners but don't necessarily have the speed to just run by them.

Hyatt's speed hasn't really flashed yet on field...not sure why that is, but some speed guys need a running start and some have explosive first steps.

Holiday & White both seem to be smaller guys with great explosive first steps, but will be interesting to see if they can shake physical SEC style coverage to really showcase it.

I think Walker Merrill may very well be the most interesting WR on the squad. He legit smoked his defender a few times, one was going to be a deep TD but the defender held him and the other was an easy TD. He seems to have the size/strength to be capable of handling physical defenders and then still has enough explosiveness to get by them too.

I'll hold judgement until seeing more games, but so far Pope as the WR coach doesn't appear to be a downgrade...seemed like more players were ready to step in and play than we had last year.
Holiday is 205lbs. He’s not built like White.

Man, i am still pumped. Just watched highlights and that was an awesome game 1 performance.

Remember with some other coaches how we would look flat and say don't worry we didn't want to show anything. Just keeping it vanilla. HAH AHA HA HA

Well, we kept it vanilla and put up 59.

Sure, it's a crap team. But we executed against an opponent who wanted to stop us. It wasn't on air.

It was clean. We used to struggle in these games and maybe eeek out a 27-14 win that was way too close.

NOT. ANYMORE.

Merrill = Justin Jefferson 2.0

Exactly
bowling green last yr was similiar to this Ball St team and we looked improved overall from this stage exactly 1 yr ago. A lot to work on of course.

Trust me don't take mine. I'm not patient or disciplined enough to wait and get slow returns. I just know people that are/have. 95% of sports bettors are basically just playing the lottery.
