She said, "It's none of my business but it breaks my heart"
Dropped a dozen cheap roses in my shopping cart
Made it out to the truck without breaking down
Everybody knows you in a speed trap town

Well it's a Thursday night but there's a high school game
Sneak a bottle up the bleachers and forget my name
These 5A bastards run a shallow cross
It's a boy's last dream and a man's first loss

Isbell is the GOAT

My personal favorite is Elephant, so much so I've written an entire screenplay (just a short) inspired by the story he tells in it.

She said “Andy, you crack me up”
Seagram's in a coffee cup
Sharecropper eyes, and the hair almost all gone
When she was drunk, she made cancer jokes
Made up her own doctors' notes
Surrounded by her family, I saw that she was dying alone (this hits home on so many levels it's scary)

yep...one of the benefits of the resources a place like UT has to offer...if he needs the help, it'll be available.
Had posted the below in the FF and believe it beyond question.

Policy or whatever aside, if the school believes there's even an ounce of potential for that kind of violence (and I doubt that) kicking him out or even off the team, would be the dumbest possible move.

Him or anyone like, needs resources, help and structure. Kicking him out would be the equivalent of firing the 'disgruntled employee'. Hope they're not that foolish and instead invest in getting him help.

Boys, I’ve been putting in work. Got the wife to agree to a verbal move in the next two years to Farragut. Biggest question is how are the schools (charter included). Anyone have inside deets?

"The real question is, what is the Applebee's situation in Farragut."

Gonna be a lot of Rocky Topics to discuss about a move that large.

SIAP...

That was a cringe-worthy thread. Kind of changes my mood on this deal. He might just have some serious issues....
I asked yesterday what his past issues had been. Posters laughed at the question, said I needed to be ignored and some even said that what happened in Hs didn’t matter.

Imo if he has anything like this in his past at best he needs to be suspended for the year and given serious structure and “help”.

The people making the decisions on his future have to know the details of his past.

One of my favorites. Love the shallow cross line.

Hold on...you read some anonymously posted crap from a thread on a rivals board, that is and always has been furious we got BT ...and you actually put any stock in it, or even worse actually believe it?

For starters, these posts were all pre-commitment to UT. It was all rumor discussion about what his delay was and why USC wouldn't pick him up. There is no animosity towards the kid or affiliation with UT in the thread, apart from one individual saying he might come here. So, using that reasoning to discredit it is.... well.... low-effort. I never said I believed any of it. I said it makes me a little uneasy. The only motivation for those posts were to provide possible insight into his situation. Namely, that he had a history of behavioral issues that were disturbing. That can't be ignored, and it is reasonable to consider it based on the conditions.

I didn't think he deserved anything other than in-house punishment and a game suspension. However, I imagine if there is any truth to his supposed history, the coaching staff knows and knows that violent behavior towards women is usually more than a one-off occurrence. If that is the case the university should provide counselling and he needs to be on a short leash.

It does appear to me at least, that the podcast will go down in the annals (two "n's" morans!!) of VN as a one hit wonder.

I hope I am wrong.
And I missed it!!! Waited and watched then had to actually work a bit....then POOF! As if it never happened.

Wait

Maybe. It. Never. Happened.

Or maybe...pew pew pew

Gone

Any clue when we'll "know" our starting lineup?

My OL prediction keeps shifting...at this point I think they might have zero freshmen start, and slowly work them in.

LT - Jahmir Johnson
LG - Trey Smith
C - Brandon Kennedy
RG - Calbert
RT - Tatum

Next up:
G - Ryan Johnson & Jerome Carvin
T - Morris & Wright

They'll probably see who's most effective against GaSt.. Start those 5 against BYU, adjust if things are going poorly.. Clean things up against Chatt, maybe figure out the finer details.. Have a more definitive starting 5 against Florida.. take it from there.

The starting 5 this week will be different from 9/21.

Because we're trying to get our strongest dudes out there immediately, I'd say

1L-R Wanya / Calbert / Kennedy / RyJohnson / Tatum
2L-R Jahmir / Carvin / RyJohnson / Calbert / Darnell

With any variation thereof.

I understand what you are saying but I think you are looking at it the wrong way. If the university believes a person is capable of harming any of its students it’s obligation is to greater good of the masses over the greater good on one individual. We all know structure is best for Thompson if he does have issues but to say that’s the decision or the school is foolish isn’t fair.
