For years, the media propped up bad Tennessee teams coached by guys who never should have trotted through the T. Now, the media is down on a Tennessee team that should be much improved with very good coaching. They're overcompensating.

Player ratings are like media opinions-- best taken with a grade of slaw.

Maybe, just maybe, we finally see what JG can really do. So glad we got Chaney cause I believe he will do wonders with JG and get Chandler more involved catching passes out of the backfield. Love watching Chandler run I think he is a really talented back.

I'm excited about JG this year. He average 7.8 ypa (6th in the SEC) playing behind a terrible line last year. A little better line play and an OC that's willing to let him throw more could lead to a HUGE season for him.

Blasphemy. Nothing comes from cans. They source everything from local farms. The recipes have been passed along in the family.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But with all do respect, that opinion ain't worth a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin getting it on.

Not to mention you can be in and out in under an hour even at peak times now. VBill is old school though and doesn’t consider anything good that hasn’t been in operation since the 50’s.

I recently learned that they had 2 freshmen on the OL the year they went to the national championship. Chaney knows what he is doing. He’s going to help us big time

I think Chaney will have good success early. There is some good skilled players in the WR/RB/TE groups, and underated speed.

Weinke being able to focus on the QBs and teach them directly will help JG a lot, and Chaney isn't a micro-manager like Helton on gameday. He's going to give JG the keys and let him drive.

OL just has to be at least a middle of the pack SEC level group, somewhere near that 6-8 ranking for the group.

Agreed. His 1st year success hasn't been great in the past, but his last 3 stops he was starting with a new QB (Eason was a FR, Peterman was a transfer (bad one at that), and Brandon Allen was starting for the first time as a SO). We have too many skill pieces to only get 25.6 ppg (article noted this his is 1st year PPG average). His last 3 stops the offense regressed by 3 PPG year-over-year, but we aren't changing much on offense and are set up for success. I expect something more like the 2009 offense - about 29-30 ppg. Drop our defense to about 22-24 ppg allowed and there's a recipe for 8+ wins.

Rankings are an educated guess at the “talent” you’re getting and are biased a lot of times. Who cares. If most services say that the player is pretty good, he’s probably pretty good.

Well statistically if you get lots of 4 and 5 stars you're much more likely going to be in the hunt for a title.
