I gotcha man. People have given me a hard time because I stand by my stance that Pruitt is a prickly guy to work for. He’s just like Saban and just like Kirby - which is why some guys gel with them and some guys don’t.

Helton didn’t like it and got out. And I don’t think Pruitt wanted to keep him regardless.

But on the whole, I don’t agree with the sentiment that coaches are running away from Saban and Alabama because he’s suddenly so much harder to work for and we’re able to keep guys because Pruitt is suddenly warm and cuddly.

I imagine a lot of coaches are intense.

Yeah, I'll believe Bama is burning when they start losing more games each year. But I'm always a wait and see kind of person. But there's no reason we can't at least hope it's true. :)

Helton and Pruitt clashed. It didn't turn out like either one of them wanted or expected. Both sides contributed to the problem and both sides benefit by a fresh start. It worked out well for UT and Helton, and IDT there are hard feelings on either side.

This still isn't saying Helton was badmouthing Pruitt, but at this point I'd say it's moot anyway. It doesn't seem to have hurt Pruitt in getting new coaches (or keeping old ones so far).

It's just rain here in Sulphur Springs. At least that's what the weather service says it is.

According to our guys out in it, and the wrecks that are happening, It's a very slick rain, too. Where did this come from?

INB4 someone says the sky - that was a rhetorical question

@shoney - how well do they take care of 11W and the roads down that way - I'm supposed to take mom to Halls so see a Kidney specialist in the morning.

You took it how you wanted to take it, then. Because that's not what he said. He told Saban that he was going to Maryland, and promptly got an ass-chewing from Saban telling him how much they needed him to stay. Then he left that and got the call from Harbaugh.

Cool thanks.

I never thought Helton was badmouthing Pruitt or UT. The facts don't support it. Fulmer helped facilitate Helton's current employment and helped him get a pretty good deal. It was a smooth transition that worked out well for Helton and his family. They're happy at WKU, and it was an excellent move for them. People make up so much crap just to get fans riled up.

Well, you know how rumors are. He could have said a couple of negative things to a couple of people at some point, and by the time it churns through the rumor mill, the narrative is that Helton is calling every coach in the country and telling them not to work for Pruitt.

Whatever much or little existed of that, I'd say everyone is doing well in their current spot.

Anyone else watch the video? Lol. Not a great look for us that Fulmer is caught coaching on film and then asks the photograper, "what are you filming?" Then he proceeds to say, "Don't put me in any of this."

Sure does make it seem like this stuff happens occasionally, and Fulmer is fully aware of the rules. I'm also sure stuff like this happens everywhere and is one of many reasons why the media is only allowed short glimpses of practice.

Honestly though, I think the handful of people who give more than half a s*** about this will forget about it by dinnertime.

Is the rule basically 10 coaches allowed to go on the road to recruit? There’s literally dozens coaching practice and on game days.

Only coaches are allowed to coach. Analysts, interns, specialists and consultants are support staff and not supposed to be coaching players. Saban flaunts his disregard for the rule and expands his coaching staff by having people like Butch, Sark, Kiffin, Locksley, etc. coach without the title. Then when he has an on-field spot, he promotes them. Wish UT would do more of it.

We have some of that... Lilly and Osovet are both coaches without the title. But I agree I am all for bending that rule.
