Discuss how he has proven he is good at hiring 🤔

I think it’s stupid to say he has accomplished little in just his first year on the job. He had like 1 month to hire his entire staff lol. He just completed his first year as a head coach. How about you explain to me how he has done bad so far? Because last time I check our former OC just became a HC.

Edit: Also we went 2-6 in the SEC and 5-7 overall which is better then the year prior.

If you believe Helton got that job based on anything that happened here last season I’ve got a bridge you might be interested in buying.

Did I say he got it because of what he did here? Nope but he obviously wasn’t viewed negatively because of what happened here or he wouldn’t of got the job. As for your bridge you can shove it where the sun don’t shine. 😉

Clawson was about 3rd on the list if memory serves

Clawson would have been a good hire if Fulmer had let Clawson run Clawson’s offense. You could see Fulmer’s finger prints all over what Clawson was trying to do. Clawson’s offense has been successful everywhere but here.

Never said he was a bad head coach, the original post I was responding to implied that he and CPF had great experience at hiring. I questioned that notion not his coaching ability. That, is still being determined

So CPF was Butch before Butch?

I think he is waiting on Freddie to see what he does. I would think that is his top want. He is plenty close with Pruitt and Friend so fit is definitely there if he wants to coach college vs any official NFL offers he gets
Kitchens would be awesome but the way he turned around that Cleveland offense, i find it hard to believe he either doesn’t stay in Cleveland or somewhere else.

Johnny Majors excelled at hiring great coaches, but he could not keep them for various reasons.

I would honestly love to see some of the people on these boards be in charge of a multi-million dollar business with their bipolar reactions and see how far they go.

The man is taking his time to make what he believes is the right decision. Our new OC should like what he sees with the new recruits and possible two 5 star OL coming in next year. He needs a teacher and a recruiter.

Does he have the luxury of waiting? We got recruiting to do....hard to recruit offensive playmakers when there is no OC or defined offensive philosophy.

Well that and Clawson tried to change our entire blocking scheme to a zone blocking scheme

This is said perfectly.

It’s a story that writes itself... former Alabama QB and career NFL assistant resurrects the most moribund franchise in the modern era before leaving to take his dream job... as Tennessee’s OC.

Agree just saying I think in Pruitts heart that is probably who he wants the most and may not move on an official offer to anyone else until he gets a no there. I just think Browns are going to hire an Offensive guy then it will depend on if that offensive guy wants to call his own plays or not. McCarthy for sure will call his own plays if he gets that job. Then who knows what happens.
