Guys old enough to have watched MJ play (back when the NBA was good) know what I'm talking about. Sorry that you missed it. The NBA hasn't been the same since that era. Gone way downhill. Can't even play defense anymore, bunch of whiny babies flopping all over the floor, it's embarrassing.
I don't agree with that at all. James is bigger and stronger than every player on those Pistons teams. Seriously doubt they could overwhelm him physically.
My favorite Jordan story is one I heard on the radio recently. Before a playoff game I think it was, MJ was posted up on the hood of his sports car smoking a cigar at the team entrance while the opposing team was entering the building. While smoking the cigar he looked at the opposing team and said something along the lines of, well, whos going to try and guard me tonight fellas?
Cold blooded.
Jordan, then random guys like
Magic
Byrd
Isiah
Clyde the glide
Stockton
Barkley
Parish
Duncan..... and many others......
Then Lebron. I have never seen a top player like him whine and complain so much to refs every game and make excuses... Be a man, and let your game do the talking... It is a generation thing.
Involuntary just reminded me of a few others-- Worthy, Rambis, McHale, ... yeah those guys were legit ballers.
Just bc guys give a mean look after a foul doesnt mean its better defense. The whole tougher era is just romanticizing the past. Players now shoot better than they ever have before the game is more spaced out Bc of it thus being more offense oriented. Doesnt mean iso or 1-1 defenders are lesser. Its just like saying nfl defenses were better in the80s Bc they scored less. No its bc most QBs werent as good and offenses were more ball control and run oriented.
No one said Lebron couldn't be a star in the 80's or 90's. At least I didn't. You obviously never saw Laimbeer play. He was tougher than Lebron. Not stronger, tougher. Trust me, Lebron would have avoided him as much as possible in a game.
Laimbeer and Mahorn would have killed him going to the hole, as opposed to today's wimps who scoot out his way..Those guys were big tough goons.
