Wtf are you talking about that guy would stand no chance against Lebron 😂😂

Lebron would hate playing against Laimbeer. Also he would fear getting a season ending injury each game he played against him. Also , if you think Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Karl Malone, Bernard King and many others couldn't star in today's game, well you are nuts.

How could you leave out Elgin Baylor?

Why do you say c-span white boys? You insinuating white players aren't as good?

Not all of them obviously but cmon man there’s more skinny white guys in that than a Kenny Chesney concert

I appreciate his agreement with my earlier post, but I'm definitely not co-signing any talk about white players in the 80s being lesser than. Bird, McHale, Walton -get outta here with that.

Nobody was trying to argue with those guys not being considered as greats

Lebron does whine a lot. The reason Jordan did not whine is that he got every. single. call. Every. single. one.

Jordan cried all the time also. I’m a Pistons fan and he was obnoxious. The West sucked then. The Pistons and Lakers got old and then all the Bulls had to do was get past the Knicks and Pacers.

The championship was always decided before the final. The Suns, Sonics, Trailblazers, and Jazz were solid but not championship level.

Wasn’t till the Spurs and Lakers that things changed.

Conversely, if it wasn’t for Lebron the east would be the West of the Bulls era.

In sports, every generation is superior to those before it. Some of us may choose not to believe that because of the influence watching it had on our formative years, but I think it’s very evident.

As technology, sports nutrition, analytics, financial investment etc... all improve in sports, so do the athletes.

In another 30 years, there will be players that vastly exceed Jordan and LeBron, yet the same old arguments will linger.

So by this logic, professional tennis is superior to what it was in the 70’s-90’s? Modern advancements in “nutrition” made Barry Bonds better than Babe Ruth? Secretariat is instantly inferior to all modern horses despite the fact of having a genetic anomaly of an enlarged heart that proved to make him a faster horse?

Sometimes there are athletes that transcend generations. Advancements will always make players hit a ball farther, be stronger, run farther, go faster, but nothing should take away from the natural gifts of the GOATs. Not even time.

Jordan was at the forefront of the “star treatment” generation. Sure, Bird and Magic etc got calls for who they were, but they didn’t blatantly carry the ball and double dribble. Two skills that Lebron HAS surpassed Jordan at. :)

Forreal man these old heads think Jordan is untouchable for some reason. The level of athleticism I’m todays game blows away the 80s and first part of the 90s. Jordan plate against a bunch of C-Span type white boys

This is such a naive and lazy narrative

Lebron was not bigger and stronger than Every player on those teams. Bill Laimbeer and Rick Mahorn would have tossed lebron around like they did everybody else. He would have matched up physically more with Rodman, but Rodman would have made his life miserable. You could make the argument that those Pistons teams helped make Jordan into the force he became by going through what they put him through. And that due to all the rule and style changes Lebron never "got" to survive something like that to sharpen his edge. But yer point that I am quoting here is pretty false.

Scotty Pippen made Jordan a champion. Never won without him. Pippen never gets his due. He was the most unassuming superstar ever.

My favorite Jordan story is one I heard on the radio recently. Before a playoff game I think it was, MJ was posted up on the hood of his sports car smoking a cigar at the team entrance while the opposing team was entering the building. While smoking the cigar he looked at the opposing team and said something along the lines of, “well, who’s going to try and guard me tonight fellas?”

Cold blooded.

Chance Hall seems like he will be back:

Hall had surgery just a month ago but has already returned to the practice field for the Vols. The way Jeremy Pruitt puts it, the right tackle is “fired up” at the thought of playing once again for Tennessee. Here’s what Tennessee’s coach had to say when asked about the lineman during his most recent media availability.

“Chance wants to play. It’s kind unusual, when I first got here, me and him had a conversation. For him, it’s been awhile since he had played, and I didn’t really know his story. So we sat down and talked and I think Chance is adamant, he’s fired up about having an opportunity to get back out there, and that’s good to see. We need him back,” Pruitt said.

Just bc guys give a mean look after a foul doesn’t mean it’s better defense. The whole tougher era is just romanticizing the past. Players now shoot better than they ever have before the game is more spaced out Bc of it thus being more offense oriented. Doesn’t mean iso or 1-1 defenders are lesser. It’s just like saying nfl defenses were better in the80s Bc they scored less. No it’s bc most QBs weren’t as good and offenses were more ball control and run oriented.

If you don't think the less physical nature of both basketball or football don't effect the scoring in games, I am not sure what else to say. Sure, guys are really good right now, and there are HOF players in both sports. But the less physical nature of the games certainly effect scoring.

Why were some offenses more run oriented? Because they could touch and pull a WR without a call and knock your ass off if you came over the middle.
