How many people donate 5000 to a strangers on this board medical fund? How many people at the last minute provide terrace tickets after they lost tickets he gave them? He may be wrong from time to time because things are fluid but he is not another dude like you in this site. Never said 100 percent done on Gruden and Gruden did have an offer in his lap again and was smart not to take it at the time offered. Also, dont think he ever really wanted to coach in college. But he has done way more for people on this board and its been verified.
We lost those guys with the way the hire was handled by Currie when it took a month.
An offense can go through any position a coach wants. You can run your offense to set up your 2-5, and even set plays for your PG. I don't really think running the offense through Grant means he is a 5. Our 5 is just not that great on offense but is a rim protector and rebounds. It is just a position.
Auburn starts a 6'7" player at their "5." Arkansas' 5 is a true freshman- same height as Alexander and only about 10-15 pounds heavier. Those are just the players that play at their 5 position.
You are a good poster, but I just don't necessarily agree with you. I side with Bruin on this. As I said yesterday, if I could choose one position/player to add to this team, I would choose a long, athletic decent shooting wing. It would alleviate any doubles on Grant and open it up for him. A better 5 or even more dynamic PG would be nice too, and either would obviously help Grant more. I am not expert but have played my whole life. It's JMO.
To be fair, thats not exactly how it started. You said we need a 5* big man Bruin said we have one his name is grant Williams you said grant is not a big man. We need a 610 grant Williams. I thought he was a bit exposed tonight
When yall started talking about Alexander. You said we dont have a true 5 on the team. Closest would be walker. If we had a 5 that could score around the basket, just think how much it would free up grant Bruin said Alexander is a true 5. Hes just inconsistent. Solid but not a dominate player. Then you went on to say hes not physical enough for the 5 and Bruin was like that would be great but there arent many like that, blah blah.
We were talking about if we could get a five star player what position would you like to see it. I said a 5. Then bruin said grant which I did say he's not a 5. And then bruin said Kyle. At which time I said he wasn't a 5 either and he's not.
Also, question. Not trying to start an argument. Just curious. In your post you said Grant wasnt a big man and that walker could be one. Later, you said Grant plays the 5 and sometimes Schofield. Whats the difference between a big man and the 5?
Actually, Bruin mentioned us getting a 5* playmaker(Simmons). And you said you wanted a 5* big man. You can go back and look, I already did
But later you said Grant and sometimes Schofield plays the 5.
I respect your opinion as well. Do those players you mentioned have a post game? That's my point. If Kyle's a 5 on the offensive side of the ball he would have a post game. I agree on defense he plays the middle in the zone and usually matches up with the other team's tallest player. In order to believe that Kyle is your 5 on offense then you'd have to believe that the TN offense has virtually zero low post production expectation from the five. Which brings me back to my original point that we could use a quality big man that can score from the low post. Preferably taller than 6-5.
I typically always agree with your posts but this post is like saying Big Ben Wallace was not a true 5 because he had no offensive game
What does that have to do with anything. It is my opinion that we could use a 5* big man. So what. Grant and admiral both have played the 5 because we don't have a true five.
