They're paying Jimbo Fisher $20k/day for 10 years. Insane. Regardless of what he does on the field.
Parity was happening in the SEC because they realized you have to have good coaches to win championships...

Do you think this is getting out of hand?

Butch was plenty inept himself. He was in position to succeed here despite all of the BS he probably had to deal with on an administrative level.

Shows how easily it can be done here, actually.

Yup. The fact that Tennessee high school football is so much better makes this job so much easier than when Phil had to log crap tons of miles to get elite roster guys.

You said you've never seen me post on here, yet I've been on VN longer then you. Just because you disagree with what I post doesn't make me a troll genius.

People cant hardly take it if you disagree....
Had this been 10 years ago 95% would have agreed with me....:)

Would your opinion of Phil been the same if you had known at the time that Haslam and Hamilton were meddling and withholding resources? Forcing him to go with an unfamiliar coordinator on a shoestring budget when he had his own guy picked out who would have brought a future NFL quarterback with him from Michigan? The same OC who would later set significant offensive records at Tennessee under Butch Jones? The deck was stacked against him by megalomaniac Haslam.

Fisher is good, but I don’t think any coach is that guaranteed. He’s a good recruiter, but it’s different selling Tallahassee vs College Station. 20k a day....for 10 yrs.....smh

That makes me sick- media loves a juicy story, why don't they talk about this. And the other things Haslam has done including today trying to put Fulmer in a bad light. I hope we end up getting the last laugh. Many people have said how calm they felt watching Fulmer's press conference and I completely agree. I had tears in my eyes hearing him speak with such passion for Tennessee.

I was fine with the hire this morning with Bahama John running the show cause it really didn’t matter who we hired. I was ready to burn this mutha down. Which we did. So now I want a real football coach who’s a fit for UT and this conference and I’m ready for our football program to act like it belongs with the big boys.

Who?..Tell me the name of this trophy hoisting giant mfer out there that is better than Leach? He has built two ass-end programs up from the dirt. At no point was either of them ever going to win a NC. It is like Vandy winning a NC, it's never going to happen no matter who the coach is, and he has done what meh couldn't do, he has taken those programs and slayed giants.

Your stupid "bad fit" bias is nonsense. If Fulmer hires a worse coach than Leach, just because of some stupid polymorphous reason like "bad fit", then he is just another arrogant moron who makes stupid decisions.

Sam I dont have anything against anyone personally...
I did not know the inner workings of the administration when Fulmer was coach....
But like so many other schools, we wanted to get over the 10-2, 9-3, 8-4 seasons.....you know that
But we always had a couple nemesis at out heels that kept preventing us from getting there year after year after year....
You know as well as I do that our National Championship journey was made possible by a fluke...or a stroke of fortune....
Al Wilsons speech would have fallen just a little short had it not been for Arkansas ignorance....
And then there was Daryl Dickey...
Yes all teams need a little luck to win a national Championship...but some teams did it on a regular basis...which showed good coaching and good recruiting....

Les Miles then make Tee one of the highest payed coordinators in the country/coach in waiting an bring Chavis back

I'd let Ric Flair put me in a Figure 4 Leg Lock to get Frost

That is the hire that would save this whole mess at this point, not Tee or Miles, and definitely none of the other limp dick names like Steele that keep getting thrown at us...So therefore it will never happen. We would have to pay a premium to get him here instead of Nebraska, and we are kidding ourselves to think UT is doing that no matter who the AD is, plus Frost is too cutting edge and creative for the ultra conservative Fulmer.

We are getting Steele or Miles. Might as well find your KY and lube up.

Two problems fellas

1. Haslam dominated AD
2. No championship coach on the Hill.

One does not necessarily prevent or guarantee the other.

24 hours ago, we may have had the coach, but had Haslam leading the AD. Now the script is flipped, but it’s far from sure Fulmer will beat out a Leach hire

It’s all wait and see

Only way I want Steele coaching at UT is if he’s the DC. Just don’t feel like he’s what we need, if we’re going to hire an older coach Les Miles is the way we should go.

I think UGA beats Auburn tomorrow

Having to emotionally and physically get up again after beating Bama. Win or lose Bama take its toll on a team the next week.

Distractions possibly with Gus and Arkansas

Steele has been in communication all week providing details of a staff he could bring and championing for the job.

I agree. I think Georgia and Bama both make the CFP.

Tee Martin. Bring him home. Reminds me of a guy like Tomlin. Leader of men.

He will be a better HC then Coordinator.

Bring Tee Home

Tee reminds me of Tomlin as well.

I think he would kill it here.

If we can't get Gruden now with the Haslams out, I would target Tee Martin.
