Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

AP has a good point, Agwheelarr doesnt have to win the game for us. Hoping he sees that and certainly his play Sat shows that. He sees that he has great pieces around him, let them feast.

I just think about Miami QB Beck literally making his Receiveds have to make stupid come back to, or insane circus catches. So glad we got this guy.
Only bad things I saw about Aguilar are a couple of his passes sailed and someone pointed out that he was a step late on a couple throws. Easily fixable.

I thought the offense would look more vanilla, because he's so new here. Really surprised we showed as much so early, knowing that Heupel generally keeps a few things off the field til bigger games. It looks like we're actually gonna be able to open the play book this year.

Also, I think a lot of his performance was helped by his experience. If that's the case, he's gonna get a lot better as he gets more comfortable with everything.

I didn't see 5 QB's better than him this weekend. He may legitimately be one of the best QB's in the country when it's all said and done this year. Maybe that shouldn't be such a huge surprise, considering he is the nation's leader in total offense and he has this system and Heupel coaching.

If we can grab a win over UGA in a couple weeks or make it a very close game, we should jump way up onto the playoff board. I hope we beat the crap out of them, 41-17 type of whooping. We're due to hand out one of those to the filthy mutts.

I know many on here hate Notre Dame, but of the higher rated teams that lost, they should not be penalized too much. That was the best game of the week, and they showed they have the depth and the guts to compete at a very high level.

Bama and Clemson were dominated in their matchups, and the scores could've been much worse.

Texas lost a tough road game, and the QB was rattled early. If Arch can fix mechanics, they will be 10-2 and make playoffs.

Notre Dame had every chance to win that game and their QB (minus one bad decision in the second half on a WR screen) looks like he will be a winner. They have playmakers, a top shelf RB, and a defense that seemed better in the second half (Yes, Miami did go way too conservative). Both teams looked like playoff contenders in a 12 team format.
Never fear. Notre dame will not be over penalized.

So where does Merklinger transfer to next year?
Random worthless comments like this are why many have a bad perception of our fanbase.
Why does this even need to be said?

Why not be excited about the upcoming season. That we have 3 QBs that want to be at Tennessee.

Merklinger could develop over the next year into a superstar qb, he might not. Time will tell.

Why borrow trouble? Out of curiosity, how old are you? Your statement is the epitome of the social media generation. 😐

I’m so excited for this season to start. I’m not worried about next year’s team composition. That’s the job of the coaches.

I think he’s right though. We looked good but it’s still early. UGA in Neyland will show us what we really look like this year.
our defense needs a little boost. I'm surprised cuse got so close to 30. Then again, our defense will probably look a lot different when all the heavy hitters are on the field.

Yeah. I only bet $.85 on it. 👀, just the change that was on my account. I thought there was no way it would hit. $.85 for $707.

I haven't looked at it closely because of stition. I should probably just let it ride for $.85, but turning down $100+ is hard to do. May cash out, just as an F.U. to the betting apps.

How many legs are left? how many have hit?..and what’s your cash out now?

How will the cake walk schedule change if they join the ACC?
Very true to an extent. At least they would have to play Clemson, Miami (improving), FSU every year. And those schools would have to play them. Plus I’m sure they would keep USC on the schedule. Better than the trash they have now.

They have a great coach and scheme on O--especially passing. And they sold out to keep drives alive when we stopped them on 3rd downs. And we played a LOT of young guys on defense. When we had more of our starters in to start the game, we were shutting them down. Josh said repeatedly over the previous offseason that we don;t have time for young guys to be young. I wonder if he threw them into the fire early to temper those blades, so to speak?

It'll definitely be interesting to see how their O and our D shed more light as the season progresses.

That TD pass to Thomas doesn't happen without the experience of both Joey & Starr.
