Seems like they have a lot of faith in UNC losing.
Disagree. He doesn’t seem to know our team at all. Talked about defense stepping back but didn’t mention we played the whole game with essentially second string at CB and Star. And most of the game with 2-3rd string at DT. Once we get healthy, we are going to be dominant. Worried we won’t be for UGA and let it get away from us. But if we can get healthy at all slots, watch out.
Just to be clear I would say my defensive worry meter is at like a 3/10, so I'm not panicking.Disagree. He doesn’t seem to know our team at all. He said he checked the stats and saw we played a lot of players. But didn’t mention playing mostly backups all game at corner. Reorganized OL and other items. Anyone can read a stat sheet. He doesn’t know our team at all and only read the stat log.I think he recognized that we played a lot of dudes. He mentioned that we had 20+ different guys register a tackle.
If Boo gets a sack, it’s a 45-19 game with playing mostly backups all game. Defense is fine. My only concern against UGA is DT. We need health and fast. We don’t have much beef right now and all they can do is run the ball.Just to be clear I would say my defensive worry meter is at like a 3/10, so I'm not panicking.
With that said, I'm not sure why Pate or anyone else is supposed to factor that in. No one held a gun to Heupel or Banks head and said we have to play every defensive player we took on the trip. It's a real game, and the guys that are out there are the guys that are out there.
If the same thing happens against Georgia in two weeks and we lose because we give up 30+, we won't get a do-over because a bunch of players were in and out of the game getting banged up
Yes! He hit one bomb and ran around a lot. He was mostly shut down by VT and their defense was on the field all the time. VT offense is bad. Really really bad.Is anyone else confused by the lanorris sellers hype? The dude is a highlight reel waiting to happen when it comes to running, but he isn’t a great QB. Seems like the QB ranking these days is more about highlights reels over being a great QB.
It's vastly appropriate to factor that in if one watched the game and is pontificating on more than just glancing at stat lines without having actually watched the game. I got the feeling Pate was doing two things in that video:Just to be clear I would say my defensive worry meter is at like a 3/10, so I'm not panicking.

How many QBs were overhyped in the offseason to disappoint in the opening game? Some of those guys will go on to have okay seasons but it just shows that QB talent in 2025 is more about hype than actual ability. There are good passers still being developed in college, but not at very many programs. Even talented passers are entering the league unprepared for success. Sellers never showed the ability as a passer so I was a bit surprised at the hype but we can't pretend like this is anything new. A lot has changed, but the media has always hyped these guys. I think part of it is simply that more QBs were able of fulfilling the hype in the past.Is anyone else confused by the lanorris sellers hype?
