Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I don't understand the long-term strategy of overpaying marginal players better teams aren't willing to match the offers on. It just doesn't make much logical sense. You're getting less for your money that way when you really need to be maximizing what you have when you are competing against teams with deeper pockets. I say let other schools overpay our lower-rated recruits.
Desperation

This is the one positive of NIL. One school won't be able to stockpile talent as they did before. More schools will pull out the old wallet and talent will spread around....to an extent.
Exactly...you just can not keep everybody...teams have to be smart with how they work it.

If you have the NIL, you don't worry about transfers. You don't lose anyone you aren't willing to lose.
I did not mean you were dumb, I'm just saying that quality depth will be poached...it is dumb imo to think anybody can keep everybody they want waiting in the wings for their chance to play for 2-3 years.

Roster/NIL management is going to be the #1 thing that programs are going to have to excel at to maintain consistency. You won't be able to keep high quality (not obvious busts or longer developing dudes) ready to play 4s and 5s as backups, so major programs are going to have to excel at finding quality lower rated hidden gems for depth.

OSU was loaded with talent last year, but they got really lucky with injuries imo.

Yep...teams are going to have to nail transfer evaluations...they are going to have to find quality bargains to provide depth.

Well crap...I was hoping they would at least help us out by rolling up a few knees...I will definitely be pulling hard for them to embarrass UGA by actually giving them a game...and the first idiot that barks at me will regret it.
“No injuries” for Peay….. ;)

We need to muck it up some for sure……

Well, that and players having their god-given right to earn whatever the market bears...when they were completely screwed over for a century under the scum ADs, NCAA, and conferences, all in cahoots.

But, yes, I like your point too...Buck Fama 😏

Generally, the duty to mitigate contract damages is either statutory or common law. It doesn’t have to be incorporated in the contract.
I'm just going by what the article says. Would be weird it would say there's no mitigation if there is mitigation. I don't know anything about contract law though.

"DeBoer's contract is 90 percent guaranteed if he were to be fired without cause, and there is no mitigation."

The quesadillas are better.

Great reflection of our success and excitement (oh and Bama's failure 🤣🤣)...but $89 is the cheapest ticket I see vs ETSU ...makes me want to puke. My family was all there in 2015 for the insanely exciting UGA comeback game and we paid $60 for decent tix. We're talking the biggest home game of the year.

I can't imagine taking a family of 4. Tix, parking, a few concessions, god bless we can stay with family and try to keep it below $500 to see an FCS opp 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

/yes this is an aside from the OP, moreso just hating how insane prices have become. Bama can have their quesadilla tix and garbage team (and fans apparently too, effing bandwagoners, we always knew it 😅🤣😍)

Under $500 for 4 is insanely low lol. That's a weird example to complain about. There's no decent team out there you can watch for much less than that.

It's OK. They're gonna have a watch party for the people who can't get in the stadium. . .
