Old Lane crying about Nico deal...ya hate to see it.

That bastard nearly got us sanctioned to hell when he was here with his recruiting and now that we're doing it above table he can't stand it.
Taking Lane personally about UT is like taking it personally when the IRS takes money from you. It's the nature of the beast.

Lane has an unhealthy need to be the center of attention. He'll do the stupidest thing to be the center of attention.

He's a middling head coach at a fairly irrelevant school in the backwoods of Mississippi. UT is nothing more than a vehicle to try to be the center of attention.

Pity the man and move on.

Lane is certifiably obsesssed with the University of Tennessee.

I believe a portion of that is someone fairly close to him probably said "you're a ****ing idiot for blowing that opportunity" and now that he's been around the world he realizes that he got his first HC job in college at one of the largest markets and didn't appreciate it.

Say Tennessee signs Nico, Bradley, Burley, and Tate, where would that rank on all time Tennessee recruiting class ranks? Just looking at 247, those early 2000s classes were awesome to look back at!

As far as top-end of the class goes, it would be a good matchup vs the 2016 class.

That would be 4 guys in the top-38, 5 guys in the top-76 with Herring. 6 in the top 100 with Ethan Davis.

2016 had 6 guys in the top-56.

Hopefully this class turns out way more productive (minus Kamara).

Overall class? We'd need to see how the rest of the class fills out. Hopefully we sign > 50% bluechips. 60%+ would be a really good class.

Then how about this? This is 23 commits, so add another WR and OL.

QB - Nico lamaleava
RB - Jeremiah Cobb
WR - Carnell Tate, Devin Hyatt, Nate Spillman
TE - Ethan Davis
OL - Ayden Bussell, Lucas Simmons, Shamurad Umarov,

DL - Chandavian Bradley, Vic Burley, Caleb Herring, Trevor Duncan, Nathan Robinson
LB - Jeremiah Telander, Tony Rojas, CJ Allen
Secondary - Jack Luttrell, Branden Strozier, Zack Myers, Cristian Conyer, John Slaughter, Sylvester Smith

5 stars - 3
4 stars - 9
3 stars - 11

I could see Tate getting bumped to a 5 star and I could see a few of those 3 stars get bumped up as well.

The most true thing Riley says in this... “Our reality is that it’s made what’s going on at certain places for a long time, it’s kind of put it out in the open,” Riley said.

Would be good for 279 points - about 6th-8th in recent years (HS only rankings). Would be ahead of 2014, behind 2015 class. But with only 23 commits - I assume some room left for transfers. *edit didn't see your note about adding an OL and WR - I added one of each, both rated 90/borderline 4* - it took us to 282.5 points. No real difference - still 6th to 8th place*

Fwiw add a guy like Mauigoa and we could well be on the edge of a top 5 class.

All of these coaches making millions are wanting to cap these players from making more money than their nil system is willing to give is absolutely wild in my mind…they just want to go back to the old way of giving these players under the table booster money so that they can have the advantage again in recruiting. It’s hilarious to see them literally tell the press that these top athletes shouldn’t make more legal money, im not sure what their end game here is because the NCAA can’t overrule a governed law set in place…

Parents of these recruits should definitely take notice of these coaches trying to spout off to the press in the attempt draw public criticism to take away money from their pockets by making a stink about it

Translation: Other schools now have the capability to do what I've been doing for years and may change the status quo.
