Former UFC champ can’t handle a punch from a YouTube star 😭

UFC doesn't punch. That is why it's so damned boring. Several styles of Martial Arts that would succeed are banned because the Gracies want it that way. That youtuber has won enough amateur bouts that really not sure he's an amateur anymore, especially since he's definitely been getting paid and training like a pro would for these fights for years now. He's not terrible but he did fight Mayweather in the sissiest way possible -- hugged him every chance he got like he was auditioning for the Gracies. Almost all of his fights (not the Mayeather one) have been KOs due to the haymakers he throws.

His brother fought Mayweather, and outweighed Floyd by 30 pounds. But, I agree that he's yet to fight an actual boxer.

There aren’t any martial arts banned in the UFC. You have to follow their rules, mostly in place so fighters aren’t constantly/needlessly maimed, but no martial art is banned. I’m not sure which ones you think would be successful that haven’t been tried before, but everything basically boils down to body control and defensive technique (of all martial arts attacks), then striking ability comes third in my opinion. That’s why wrestling (folk style, free style, Greco) or something like Sambo or Judo is typically a good foundation for MMA fighters to build on, it teaches body control instincts, hand control, weight distribution, leverage, etc.

I've been doing ESPN Bowl Mania for over a decade. This is the 1st year I've had a group or been in one. Thanks to all of you who joined.

I set the league to "confidence" mode, where you get a different amount of pts for how confident you are in each pick.

Here's how it's going:

Updating this. Let the record show I ended the day better than I started it.

Need fantasy help - gaskins, penny, or Hubbard for 1 RB spot
I would stay away from hubbard, panthers offense has been terrible last three weeks and if they're behind abdullah will take a lot of passing downs from him, i think gaskins would be the play based on everyone's production against jets d all season long, penny had a good week last week but not sure if he can be trusted, if he struggles early carroll will go to someone else, but the game has makings to be higher scoring compared to most the games this weekend...just my amateur opinion good luck

I hope we can agree that elite players have been paid for decades at TN, Bama, USCw, AU, LSU, etc from documented information.

The reason other pro/semi-pro leagues failed is they've gone from nothing to trying to make money immediately. The NCAA has grown over lots of years to where the money is enormous. They could do that BECAUSE they didn't have to pay the players while other leagues HAD to pay their players.

Boosters have handled the bags for the NCAA instead of it being a legit business that paid its employees.

That's why this is falling apart now. The players are about to be called employees.

I'm not saying I like it but ignoring what's happening won't help, blaming the players won't help. It's the courts that are going to rule on whether they're employees or not.

UFC should go back to what made it awesome to begin with. . . no weight classes and pit radically different styles against each other and refs can't stop the fight.
