My husband’s best friend was killed while riding bikes with his family when someone was blinded by the sun when they came over a hill which made them run onto the sidewalk... my mom died... my aunt died... a cousin died from cancer... my daughter’s boyfriend died in a motorcycle accident. All that to say, after that I really appreciate the good things in sports that are about the people around you because you don’t know how long you will have them. Doesn’t mean I hate players looking out for their interest. I just really appreciate those that are not just about the money.

CFB players were not getting the raw deal that it's been made out to be, and the players don't carry the value of college sports like people assume they do.

I hope we can agree that elite players have been paid for decades at TN, Bama, USCw, AU, LSU, etc from documented information.

The reason other pro/semi-pro leagues failed is they've gone from nothing to trying to make money immediately. The NCAA has grown over lots of years to where the money is enormous. They could do that BECAUSE they didn't have to pay the players while other leagues HAD to pay their players.

Boosters have handled the bags for the NCAA instead of it being a legit business that paid its employees.

That's why this is falling apart now. The players are about to be called employees.

I'm not saying I like it but ignoring what's happening won't help, blaming the players won't help. It's the courts that are going to rule on whether they're employees or not.

That said, you did have to love her line to the wife at the bar when her husband went to the bathroom.

Awful character. Then again there are a few terrible charcters in what's an otherwise interesting overall narrative. It's like they didn't put much time into her and a couple others - just 1 dimensional caricatures.

He did fight Floyd...but Floyd, at like 45 lol, was pretty content just letting the fight slide by. Definitely won, but didn't feel like he was there to knock Paul out either.
