That is awesome...I only had a day and a half. Originally we were not going to go to Yosemite...we were going north from Sacramento to Lassen Volcanic NP, and then up to Crater Lake NP, and across Oregon to the coast, and down the coast from Thors Well to San Fran catching Redwoods NP along the way, but it seemed crazy not to since it was right there.

We ended up having to totally scrap those plans thanks to the Dixie Fire, and so we rerouted everything and went south from Yosemite. We were gonna go to Sequoia/Kings Canyon but the KNP complex fires shut them down too..
We ended up spending way more time in Yosemite than we planned. It was hard to leave when we saw it. Had a bunch of stuff planned. Ended up just going to Yosemite and Tahoe with our 14 days.

Both places are incredible. Fun fact. We got lost a couple of times riding bus system at Yosemite. Either we were stupid or really exhausted from hiking.

Or we can choose the worst statistical game in 7-8 million years and acknowledge that the offense was able to overcome a poor defensive performance.
Why are you getting highly offended by the slightest bit of criticism?

Exactly. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. He finally realized his defense wasn't stopping anything with the base defense, rushing 3-4 and dropping the rest in zone coverage. I firmly belive they would have easily scored again if he hadn't turned up the heat. He blitzed every play after that 4 and 24 conversion.

Some posters get highly offended if you offer the slightest bit of criticism. Banks had his worst game since he's been here. I bet he'd agree.

Going to Nashville for the Preds game Saturday night. Where is the best spot to watch a Tennessee game downtown/near Broadway? Would prefer to have the game sound on. Been to Nash a million times and somehow have never watched a Vols football game there lol

I don’t personally go to Broadway much, especially not to watch a game, but the alumni group meets up for watch parties at BoomBoz in East Nashville. I’m not a huge fan of the place but they have okay pizza and bar food, lots of TVs. They would definitely have sound since it’s a watch party. Broadway you will probably have trouble with the sound aspect. If you want to watch with a bunch fans and drink and eat, I’d go to the watch party.

Brian Snitker. Braves lifer.

Bass’ favorite manager he loves to hate. And I agree that he comes from the short-circuited pitcher management tree of Bobby Cox, but dang it he’s a guy you want leading you into battle. Those players love him.

I loved this SI article. Finally read it all. Long but fantastic read to bookmark for later. It’s the all-American success story that makes this country and sports so great. And to put the article in context with winning the WS, just makes it the perfect feel-good story.

Great snippet from the article…

It was a warm afternoon, and the Braves were hosting the Marlins. The teams had history. On the first pitch of the game, Miami starter José Ureña threw at Acuña, drilling him in the elbow with a fastball. As Acuña grabbed his arm and Ureña stared him down, the dugouts tensed.

And then, roaring up the steps and onto the field, face red and bellowing, charged a portly, bald 62-year-old with a bad hip, beelining for Ureña, having to be held back. And with that the floodgates broke and the benches emptied. In the end, no punches were thrown, and, after deliberation, the umps tossed Snitker along with Ureña.

“People always ask, ‘Why would a player run through a wall for a manager?’ ” says Bill Shanks, a longtime Atlanta radio host who has written a book about the Braves. “Well, that’s why.” The normally calm Snitker was still riled up during his postgame press conference. To Francoeur, it’s an example of how Snit bridges the gap—of decades, language and culture—with his young players. “They see that and they know he’s going to fight for them,” says Francoeur.

I turned into a gambler sometime in the past week or 2.

Idk what I'm doing, but I won $180, by betting 100 on the Vols last week. . . it was winnings off the free $25 they give you to open an account.

Anyway, they had something called a "same game parlay" for the Clippers game last night. Idk anything about it, but saw 4,000 people bet on it and since it was free $, I bet $100 on it. Checked it this morning and have $1,181. Won the parlay for like $922. It was +822.
Whenever I win a parlay like that (crazy odds), I just make another big bet using a bunch of the winnings and hope that hits as well. If it hits, big $$$, if it doesn't, NBD because it's crazy I had it to start with.

Also, the Vols are money in the 1st quarter. See this post.

Best place to catch the game about 3hrs east. There will bo 100k+ there and should be able to accommodate you.

We camped at Camp 4. Drew that lottery lol. We hit up 5 and dime, parkline and jungle gym. Did 3 pitches at parkline everything else was single pitch. We didn't fly enough trad gear in. Bouldered at Tuolumne meadows and camp 4. Tuolumne has some great underrated bouldering up there.

Nice! Lucky you got Camp 4, that’s a hard get. I remember 5 and dime. That’s some good routes and great exposure at 3 pitches, too. Yeah, trad gear can be bulky. Hopefully you didn’t take any rough whippers.

I only bouldered at Camp 4 and did not know about Tuolume. Granted this was in the 90’s when I was there. I love underrated boulders. Especially in areas that don’t have a lot of traffic. Sounds like a good trip!
