The worst part about Baron's scoop and score as they changed it to a non reviewable call. So the on field officials took the ability of the main SEC booth guys to even review it.

Why they didn't just leave it a called fumble/touchdown and THEN let them in the booth review it to call it forward progress stopped is beyond me.

You can't go back to review and say forward progress was stopped. The call on the field in that situation would have stood almost no matter what, so they decided to change the call "on the field". Total, absolute screw job. That was not what was called on the field and every single person that watches the play knows that.

in all fairness he was short on 4th and 24.

The issues at hand, as I saw them.

1) Egregious call to waive off scoop & score.
2) Throwing flags just to control the game. Officials shouldnt throw 100+ yards of penalties.
3) If you're going to call holding, be fair. Ole Miss held, a lot. It seems, and has always seemed that it gets called versus us in most crucial situations. Ie Hendon run for 21 gets called back...
4) Oh, and the flops. All the flops! 🤦🏼‍♂️

I dont actually think there is a fix. I do think Sankey et al do covet Bama, Florida, and GA and want to ensure they prosper for $.
Don't be blind...there is a fix. Sometimes I think it is just the crew as a whole doesn't like one team or the other, but I believe with all my heart that the league instructs them to protect the fat cows.

I guess in that instance, it is a fix. Blind loyaltly to cash. It's there. It happens.

You know what? We could have won that game. Tillman had his hands on the win and Kiffin saw his quarterback's Heisman award flash before his eyes. Yes, it seems like the refs tried everything to keep Tennessee from winning, but we almost won anyway. If you weren't sold on Heupel before Saturday, you should be now. And Neyland needs to be loud and proud for every game henceforth and forevermore.

IMO.

That's kind of the point, if the review booth can't change it to forward progress being stopped then why do the on-field guys have that level of control?

What's weird to me...later in the game Corral was wrapped up again on a sack, but was allowed to not only continue the play but throw it incomplete with his left hand.

Play that benefits us = forward progress stopped
Play that benefits them = no whistle & incomplete pass
That’s a great point! Wasn’t that ruled grounding tho iirc? Atleast we got that call if so

The fix was in...the bogus holding non-calls and calls were all you needed to know. I have believed for years that is how officials dictate outcomes.

My dad was an alum. When I would see the stuff as a kid that I still see now as an old man, he would always say, "You have to be good enough to beat the other team and the officials and umpires." I used to ask him why Bama always got away with stuff that we didn't. That told me the fix was always in to a limited degree, just could be beaten. They just hid it better back then. Today it is just blatant, in your face and they don't care.

Which is why Randy, Donde and Danny need to get a clue and throw sand in the machinery. We Vol fans are as contrary as it gets. They need to be likewise and we will have their backs. We are their money train and support system unless they want to become Candy. in which case, welcome to the Neyland Mausoleum.

They don't to my knowledge, it's a screw job. Not sure if $ on the game or just hates UT but it's something. I'd love it if someone could find a comparable call made but I don't think it exists. Teams have been screwed on plays being called dead for forward progress but I've never seen one that continued on and then the refs just decide that the progress was stopped after they let the play go on.

I agree with everything you said, except that Tillman didn’t have his hands on the catch. He barely had his fingertips on it.

The fans and team will continue to be us no matter who is in charge there. They've been an absolute clown show for 20 years, we aren't going to change even if they're against us. I'd love for them to comment on the officiating the same way they can comment on the fans' reactions to the officiating.

OK, I have the answer to our problem with officiating and address all of our guys who are banged up against Bama. Every single play when we are on offense, throw the ball at a different referee and hit them, or run the ball right at one of them and knock them down unintentionally. On defense, make it a point to run over one of them accidentally every play. You can do all of this with players from the bench. Then, let Danny White send Sankey a note and tell him this is what will happen every game when officials start intentionally making corrupt calls. Go all The Longest Yard on them!
Every play you have a player go down with cramps. When the game runs 8-10 hours, Saban, uh I mean the SEC will make a rule change.

I'm completely sold.

But what's also gonna be funny is when the constant negative media attention galvanizes the Scots-Irish (rebellious and don't like to be screwed) UT fanbase into a single monolithic force for chaos, resulting in sold-out redneck-mad "I'm mad as he11 and not gonna take it anymore" crowds, thus achieving complete unity in spite of poor performance on the field. You think we're bad now? Just wait.

too early in the series for that. Wait until it's over. Long way to go. The baseball gods are aware and they are capricious.

So according to some we have Baseball gods, Golfing gods and Basketball gods. I reckon you can throw in tennis gods and curling gods. So how does that work? Sorta like this? Ok we have a golf tourney so I need the golf gods in Florida and he have a baseball game in L.A. so baseball gods over here. Wait, we have another golf tourney in TX so some of you need to split up. You guys needs to decide and oh we have a couple more baseball playoffs so you guys need to divide up in small groups. I know we are going to be stretched out but do the best you can in spoiling and dash hopes of all Brave fans. LOL

The reason they overturned the strip sack play in my opinion is because Kiffin had the side judges ear the whole time. The second it happened he ran to the side judge and whined and cried, assuming Corral thought the play was dead and that was the reason it was called forward progress. They never once showed Heupel. Hell I’m not sure they showed him any until the second half. SEC made their bias known just by the way they covered the game.

Don't screw with the curling gods. Might toss a 44 pound stone on you.

Also that last run from Milton was for 13 yards to the 8 yard line for a 1st & goal.

So he needed 8 more yards, I don't know if he could have gotten it. Maybe another 3 to 5, but damn if you're going to be stupid ya gotta be tough. Should have just slung it at the crowd in the endzone.

Follow the money. We have a higher rated team, and an hypesman trophy candidate. Tennessee, is not the flash team. They always do what they can to make sure the money team wins. The SEC is as corrupt as the mafia.

I think it's awful to throw things at the field, because you could potentially hit innocent ops people, support staff, photographers, etc.etc. Unacceptable behavior IMO.

HOWEVER - the SEC allowing Marc Curles to still have a job is even more unacceptable. I'm not generally a blame the ref guy, but if someone is bad at their job in highly public ways for over a decade, he shouldn't have that job.

His crew was suspended in 2009 for almost a month for a phantom PF call that cost an unranked Arkansas team an upset of #1 Florida.
His crew cost Mississippi State a win with poor officiating against Memphis.

It's not even the clearly bad calls his crew makes, it's the process/fundamentals that they screw up. They're just legitimately not good at their jobs.

Yep, they're lying is the simplest explanation.

In that game alone there were multiple times Corral was going down and threw the ball away and they didn't rule his 'forward progress had stopped'. If that wasn't a fumble then any time a player is knocked backwards and fumbles then it's not a fumble as their 'forward progress has stopped'.

There was no excuse or reasonable explanation for the call. They were either completely incompetent or intentionally cheating.
Maybe our QB statue move works great for forward progress fumbles

The statement had to do with the scoop and score

Calbert
Harris
Cooper

It's a wonder we still can move the ball if we're all honest with ourselves. Ollie and Dayne just aren't SEC OL guys.
What Heupel is doing with that offensive line and no depth at RB is remarkable. Not to mention he resurrected Hendon's career and has him playing at a level he has never played at before.
