Disregarding Freeze’s past at OM and Fulmer aside, I’m very interested in the dynamics at UT that would be against Freeze and why?

There are so many smart and reasonable people out there that have said we should hire Freeze. Is there something all these folks are missing? Everybody gets that he had troubles. But he's owned it and paid for it and is back to coaching again.

He has risk. Yep. So does every other candidate and most of them have never beaten our rival coaches like he has. For football reasons it makes a crazy amount of sense.

It’s crazy the lowering standards and those willing to accept coaches that’ll have us back here (minus an investigation) in another 3-4 years.
What do you suggest we do? Paint the rock? Twitter? This investigation along with the dysfunctional Athletic Department has lowered the standard.

Our bball team is very good. But we'll need a Josh Richardson-like offensive resurgence from somebody to make a really deep run. Lots of talent on this team. Could happen. Could see Keon/Springer taking over a little bit down the road.

Springer is that player. Not because he is going to score 25 which I think he could on a different team that wasn't so talented and deep but he creates so many solid possessions that lead to points. He may not make the pass for the assist but makes the pass to the pass to the next guy who scores. He is like a surgeon with the ball being the knife. Methodically, slicing the defense and creating a scoring opportunity for himself or someone else. A joy to watch him operate.

I know some yall don't like Trey Wallace, but he just said Pruitt is down 24-7 with 10 minutes left in the 4th. 😂 With his QB management skills, thats a wrap.

Also said that other schools are using their student athletes to reach out to our players. Obviously the good ones. Thats why you hear Cole Cubelic mentioning Wanya to Oklahoma and some west coast schools reaching out to Henry T.

Trash it, I guess, but its new info.

I get it. Taking a step back I can’t fault anybody for lowering their standards. I guess I’m just in the minority. I’m fully prepared to be disappointed and already yanked all financial support (drop in the ocean) and will not attend games until they hire a proven winner. Freeze is who I want but also is the lowest I would accept. I would not be ok with Napier, Chadwell, Marrone at all. Gus is meh at best and would be completely settling. Herman can’t get out of his own way and the TX HS coaches were majorly turned off by him.

My hard line in the sand is Freeze or better. That’s just me though. I know... I’m a glutton for punishment. It’s the Vol way.

We are not hiring Jeff Fisher LOL

If we’re going that route, it’s Marrone 100%.

Marrone sucks and so does freakin Bill O'Brien both NFL rejects or Chadwell or whatever his name is. Go get a winner that will create excitement again in the program and recruiting.

An NFL hire like Marrone or Fisher wouldn’t run the type of offense that succeeds in college football.
How do you know? They may want to prove they can... I believe Marrone’s offense was pretty modern... it they come in as CEOs and get the best offensive minds available, it could be special...

I will at least hear the argument for Fisher, but offensive creativity was never the jags issue. Plus there’s never been a time where NFL offenses are were more similar to college than now. So i definitely don’t worry about it Marrone. You could even make the casethat they had to be pretty creative in jax to win as many games as they did with constant bad QB play.

As for Fisher - during his times as HC he showed that he was flexible offensively. They changed up a few things and hired different minded OC.

The whole thing with both of them for me is the leadership and high floor they would instantly bring us. Stability and leadership is a more likely Avenue to where we want to be vs just striking gold on an unproven candidate

I hear you on the last part. We do need a leader and stability in the worst way. Just seems like College Football is putting up more and more points each year and the NFL still isn’t as creative although it has gotten more modern. In NCAA you have to be able to score 40 at any given time. NFL scores can still be 27-24 21-10 most good college teams have the ability to put up 40 any given Saturday unless completely overmatched.

Fisher is the hidden home run we've been waiting on. I truly believe that.

Would rather have a college coach, but I don't think Marrone or Fisher would be bad, just not as big a splash as some others. The argument about Marrone's record doesn't wash with me because he was at the mercy of the roster the GM gave him. The argument about Chadwell's offense doesn't either. Good Offensive minds will take it and adapt and adjust to the speed and ability they are up against. Again . Don't know who would or wouldn't succeed here. Neither does anyone else on here.
