Disregarding Freeze’s past at OM and Fulmer aside, I’m very interested in the dynamics at UT that would be against Freeze and why?
Our bball team is very good. But we'll need a Josh Richardson-like offensive resurgence from somebody to make a really deep run. Lots of talent on this team. Could happen. Could see Keon/Springer taking over a little bit down the road.
I get it. Taking a step back I can’t fault anybody for lowering their standards. I guess I’m just in the minority. I’m fully prepared to be disappointed and already yanked all financial support (drop in the ocean) and will not attend games until they hire a proven winner. Freeze is who I want but also is the lowest I would accept. I would not be ok with Napier, Chadwell, Marrone at all. Gus is meh at best and would be completely settling. Herman can’t get out of his own way and the TX HS coaches were majorly turned off by him. What do you suggest we do? Paint the rock? Twitter? This investigation along with the dysfunctional Athletic Department has lowered the standard.
An NFL hire like Marrone or Fisher wouldn’t run the type of offense that succeeds in college football.
I hear you on the last part. We do need a leader and stability in the worst way. Just seems like College Football is putting up more and more points each year and the NFL still isn’t as creative although it has gotten more modern. In NCAA you have to be able to score 40 at any given time. NFL scores can still be 27-24 21-10 most good college teams have the ability to put up 40 any given Saturday unless completely overmatched.I will at least hear the argument for Fisher, but offensive creativity was never the jags issue. Plus there’s never been a time where NFL offenses are were more similar to college than now. So i definitely don’t worry about it Marrone. You could even make the casethat they had to be pretty creative in jax to win as many games as they did with constant bad QB play.
As for Fisher - during his times as HC he showed that he was flexible offensively. They changed up a few things and hired different minded OC.
The whole thing with both of them for me is the leadership and high floor they would instantly bring us. Stability and leadership is a more likely Avenue to where we want to be vs just striking gold on an unproven candidate
