Just messing with you guys. However, The piece of that article that I paid most attention to was the interview with Fisher on Monday. If we do in fact interview Jimbo on Monday, we could very well have a coach by Tuesday.

This search has been great, really. There's not one legitimate name I've heard that I don't think we couldn't win with.

The worst coach on the list, in my opinion, is Fedora. And that guy would probably be top 6 in the SEC right now.

How do you feel about Fisher? I don't want him, personally.

Strong is by far my favorite candidate. I don't think Fisher would be terrible, but he'd be second at best on my list and that's a toss-up. I've thought since the beginning of this search that Strong would be our next coach. Just a hunch I've had.

Strong absolutely needs to be the guy.

From the Colorado 247 site:

"Scoop spoke with a source of ours close to Tennessee on Saturday and heard the following:

We were told Jones is currently 3rd on UT's list. First is Mike Gundy, who is interviewing with them tomorrow. Second is Jimbo Fisher, who is interviewing with them on Monday. Depending on how those two go, Jones could then be contacted.

But as of this point Jones hasn't had any formal contact with UT officials."

You know what is crazy is that I would love to have Jimbo Fisher but somebody please tell me why he would leave Florida State?

Hubs just did his Sat update. Really nothing new. Thinks they are planning on hiring someone this next week, so it looks like it's probably gonna be Gundy, Fisher, Golden, Strong, or maybe Fedora(nobody seems to know if an interview is really in the works for him or not). Rucker basically has the exact same info, so if that's whose being interviewed this week, the I suppose we should have one of them in place by Friday. I personally can't wait.

They both have the same info? That makes it pretty clear their source is in the UT AD IMO.

I'd really like Fisher, but I'm not buying that he will leave FSU. Like Gruden before him, I will believe it when I see it.

I agree. The names associated with our job this time around are great. Tells you what people really think of our program.

That a 5-7 Tennessee team has a shot at these guys is great IMO! Good days are ahead, I really believe it.

All this Fisher is a great recruiter BS. You all think that Florida schools just happen to always hire elite recruiters? It's FL, it's the 2nd easiest recruiting state besides TX. You want to get someone who recruits well where it's HARD, not where it's easy.

I'm in no way advocating Fisher, but that is a bit uninformed on him. He has consistently pulled in players from places like texas, maryland, virginia, and many others. For example last years class consisted of 6 players from the state of Florida and 13 out of state recruits.

Very true statement and the best one I have read here in quite sometime!!! I've been very impressed with the coaches we have on our list and I think whoever it is named we are going to be on our way back to a Top 10 program!!!

This coaching search has us in contention for candidates that all surpass Dooley easily, so that's definitely a positive.

Fisher would be a huge get IMO. As long as he could put together a stellar staff I don't see how he wouldn't be successful at Tennessee. Let's be honest, while Jimbo does reel in great recruits from the state of Florida each year, the FSU program wasn't exactly what it had historically been when he took over. Bobby Bowden had really take FSU down a few notches, so Jimbo had to deal with a rebuilding process (that wasn't nearly as difficult as the one Dooley took over, but still a big undertaking).

Charlie Strong is also a great hire. He would instantly be a recruiting threat in the SEC and he would bring a great work ethic. That being said, is he going to be able to out coach Richt, Spurrier, Muschamp, and Saban? I don't know yet, he remains an unproven commodity coaching against the big boys. This will be true of any of the coaches we hire, but I just wish there was a guarantee that Strong coached as well as he recruited.

I would be shocked to see Gundy leave Ok St. and Golden has a good set-up in Miami. I would be happy with either of them as well.

If I had a list it would probably be:

1) Gundy
2a) Fisher
2b) Strong
3) Fedora
4) Golden

Despite my rankings, I would be ecstatic to have any of those 5 (assuming that no matter the coach Hart was willing to give them all the money the would need to establish an all-star staff).

Butch Jones, Cincinnati HC. Continual assistant of Brian Kelly until Kelly left for ND and Cincy hired Jones to take over.

Jones was Kelly's OC at Central Michigan for 1 year in '04 and that was the only year they worked together. Jones was hired to replace Kelly at CMU and then again at Cincinnati.

playing that schedule so would DD

and after that i would put some kind of crafty hash tag or back slash but i don't really no what those mean

Dude your nuts if you think Dooley would be 10-2 with that Louisville team. He would be lucky to have 5 wins. If you switch head coaches and put strong on our squad we would have had 8-9 wins. The players believe in strong and found ways to win. Our guys found ways to lose because they didn't believe what coach. Dools was saying

I stand corrected. I probably should have checked wiki before I used continual assistant.

I for one would hate a Butch Jones hire. Leave him at Cincy.

Al Golden has a Miami team that plays just like Dooley's team last year. Want no parts of that.

I want Strong and hope that deal is done personally.

I approve all of this message and agree. Hopefully Strong is hired.

From Rivals article today about Petrino -

"I think the most obvious benefit is that he would probably keep Trooper Taylor on board," Hokanson said. "I think most everyone knows that Trooper is the linchpin for this class and Petrino is probably the most likely candidate to keep him."
