A civil claim is a criminal claim? I'm not here to argue his innocence. But I am saying there are times in this world that court of public opinion ruins peoples reputations when falsely accused.Charged? Did you read the shared story. He's lost at least 3 civil claims against him already...On3 AND Metro Straw both have parted ways and made public statements.

Id say this young man isnt in for a fun 2025-26. cannot imagine him having $ for a good defense lawyer, unless he's connected and can get pro bono.
not sure if the fraud happened across state lines. if it has he may have lucked out with Orange one telling justice department to not pursue white collar criminals.
I cannot imagine a world in which being a Felon is anything but about the worst thing you could envision. Let's not pretend this is the same as violent crime, but, it is absolutely a crime. And should be treated as such. However, things as they are these days, societally.
There appears a laissez-faire attitude toward certain criminals, and in a broader sense where capitalism at any cost, and money is power. To me a connected, well to do, white dude in the South, former athlete probably doesn't care about the fallout. Looking around the room, prob feels either entitled or invulnerable.
Yup, ZZ has no business getting another year of eligibility. And Berto, Pavia, CBM, etc shouldn’t either. College should be 5 years to play 4 seasons MAX, maybe include a medical rs clause that you get a medical rs if you miss more than half the regular season from injuryI like ZZ, but this is probably the right call. . . the Pavia ruling was bad.

Well said and the message is clear that ball is the most important thing in life. More important than school, your faith and pretty much everything else in life. Bad message to send to your kids. Most parents do it out of great love for their kids but teaching your children priorities and balance in life is much more important. I’m older and know many disagree and that’s fine. I coached both my daughters in numerous sports and generally had good experiences in coaching. You always have a crazy here and there but I would just nicely tell them to find another team to play on as that wouldn’t hurt my feelings. Teaching fundamentals and having fun is what’s important in coaching younger kids. Everyone likes to win but thinking that’s the most important thing when coaching kids under 10-11 years old you really need to rethink your priorities. Rant over.Unless your kid has baseball scholarship potential, I'd argue travel ball (the stereotypical every weekend and many thousands of dollars per season variety) is bad for your kid. If they grow up thinking sports is all there is to life, they'll be empty and unsatisfied later in life and they'll miss a lot of valuable childhood experiences because they had so much of their life devoted to one single area.
Now if baseball is going to be their life into adulthood and a possible career, that's not always a bad thing. But most kids don't benefit later in life from that type of childhood. I did it for a season before my parents threw in the towel, and none of those permanent travel ball kids I knew turned out to be the kind of adults I'd want my kid to be. Maybe just coincidence, but I think a more well rounded childhood is better for almost every kid.
Welp, that did not take long.
The issue is that each case has a different set of facts, and the NCAA arbitrarily issues waivers. Health and mental health being something they’ve been protecting. The 5 to play 5 is probably going to pass, and ZZ is going to be in the only class that doesn’t benefit from that since Covid. I don’t disagree with sentiments, but the NCAA created this whole mess.Yup, ZZ has no business getting another year of eligibility. And Berto, Pavia, CBM, etc shouldn’t either. We have the best AD in the country who is making or facilities some of the best in the country. We are willing to pay more for the right coach. We have the best overall fan base in the country. We have a higher overall potential. We have the best coach in college baseball.
If he left for ARK (by no means do I think he will), what would the argument be for UT?
